165 Matrix in a 270 WSM

This is an old thread but I could not help myself.

Answer: They are not.

I'm about to begin load development on mine. It's a full custom long action Remington specifically built to shoot the 165. I had it throated especially to accommodate bullet seated out. It's been a long process. I will start a thread about the build and load development.

Yes it will but unless you have some you'll never get any or enough to make it worth your time. Matrix was sold recently but the .277 molds were not included and the old owner is not making them for the public to my knowledge, sucks as that was a great bullet.

I sold off the last of the 165's I had but have 300+ of the 175gr that no way I'll sell.

The 170 bergers will stabilize for a little bit but I wouldn't recommend them out of a 1:10 barrel, I was able to get good results out to 300 yards but after that they destabilized and went who knows where.

Personally I would just stick to a 150gr with the 1:10 twist.

It's likely that no further discussion is required, in which case we recommend starting a new thread. If however you feel your response is required you can still do so.
