I can not think of a place where you could just set them and leave them, unless you have conections on private land. As for places to shoot there are two ranges, one in Rexburg and one in blackfoot that have the ability to shoot 1000 yds
When I shoot ELR I have my metal targets on portable stands then take them into the desert west of Sage Junction.
