Anyone have any experience with this rig? Considering for backpack mountain hunting.
I have one Tikka and love it.

It's pretty heavy, I think if I was wanting a Tikka in a chassis I would look at just dropping one into a XLR magnesium or HTN26 chassis for a mountain rig. I'm sure it's a great shooting rifle just not sure how heavy you want to go for a backpack rig.

I was just looking at the Ace for the same reason. I wanted something in a chassis. I was also looking at the Sig Cross.

I appreciate the insight from Ck. I'm completely new to this chassis idea. I might start looking that direction he recommended.

I really like that HNT26 but just can't swing that much money for a chassis. It's a dream item right now.
buy once cry once.

save your pennies until you can get the item you want, other wise you end up buying a "good enough" version and still want the original then it costs even more in the long run.

I love the Tikka action and my Tikka's are all accurate rifles. But, I also have a Sig Cross in 6.5 CM (and one in 6.5 PRC) and they are both really accurate. The 6.5 CM gets overlooked a bit but every time I pick it up I am surprised by how light it feels and how well it shoots. I have been eyeing the HNT26 with another rifle in mind (Howa 1500) but I just can't justify the cash right now. Sure looks nice though.

I purchased a Sig Cross several years ago in 308 caliber and after some range time shooting factory 168gn Sierra's and home grown stuff with Berger 168 and 175 gn it was time to find this rifle a new home. I've been shooting for the last 60years and never did i experience a rifle that was only good for a door stop..

A Tikka Ace is not what I would consider for a backpacking mountain rifle. As mentioned, toss a T3x in a MDT Hunt 26 or the new Seekins Hunter chassis.

i made it credit card GIF

Just use a credit card!

I'd like to handle one, doubtful any shops around me will get any in though.
Also doubtful Tikka will be releasing any new cartridges than what they already have. I'd love to see them do some of the new 22 and 6mm offerings.

Tikka — given the growing popularity of suppressors, I like to see Tikka offer some shorter barrel options (threaded, of course).
