Im the same my range is 100yds from my house . I have 2 new rifles 1 i had built 1 factory. Only sighted them in then back in the safe. My excuse is freakin TICKS are horrible here in Missouri.

Have win 70 I just renlued and floated barrel, need to take it to the range and resight it in(primary rifle) have old ruger 77 in .338wm i put not so good scope on to start load development on. ( scope works fine just not going to be permanent i do not like AO scope), just picked up rem 700 sendero in 7mag, sold different rifle (wish I wouldn't have), to this one. Need glass for couple ARs, and my 22-250, yep in same situation. Oops

I don't really like hearing that you are retired and can't make time for your obviously neglected rifles! I have two more years to go and keep telling my self that I will spend time on my guns when I retire. I have a 20BR Encore barrel and loads waiting, Also a 6mmRem AI barrel to be twisted onto a Rem 783 action. I did find time yesterday to shoot a new to me Husqvarna M38 6.5x55, was amazed that the old rifle and my old eyes could do so well considering how wide the front sight post is.

Yep. I'm guilty. I have three rifle and a coupe pistols that I have never shot. I have been building rifles for a couple years now and had to slow down. I have a Rock River Arms LAR-08 in .308 with 26" comp barrel that I bought 15 years ago and still sitting in the case. It's scoped up and ready to go. I have gotten it ready twice. I originally put a brand new Vortex Viper PST on it 15 years ago and last year decided I was going to shoot it but wanted a better scope on it so put a new Leupold Mark 4HD. She is still sitting there. So I have the brand new Vortex scope in the box. Maybe I need to build another rifle for it. lol.. I also have a couple of AR's still in the box.

To many to count. Several rifles and short arms I don't even know just how many I have.
Part of the problem was I set and moved my reloading equipment to Montana to my sons place. The other is I am in transit alot between Cal to Montana.
Felt He had a good place to setup to reload from. Did to much reading here and purchase a great amount of updated reloading equipment. My son had a place to reloading at. His wife took over the area for an office. That okay, but needed something else. Drew up plans and made a material list. Order the material to build it. Durning that time still getting reloading equipment. Far more equipment that took up more room than I figure on. Darn Rabbit Hole anyway. So I had to come up with some invative ways to store items and get to them without having to unstack boxes to get to sometime on the bottom. . Set up bench with inline plates to move presses and other items, on and off the bench. That work great.
Mean time I had 2 rifles built and 2 more being built. I have 3 rifles that I had barrels changed out and need stocks built for them. Anybody that has wood stocks, and let the action in with barrel knows just how much time that takes. One action to change out barrels for fireforming some of my cases. Going to us an existing stock for that. So I have about 10 rifles to set up for one thing or another. Mostly for developing a load for them. The 6mm/280AI ran me around for quite sometime. Now I feel I have overcome the problem. Again the only thing is I am Mexico-North or Cal. All items are being shipped to Montana. So it's months before I get to figure out if they will work or not.
Well the bottom line is I have my home here Murrieta sold and going through escrow presently, and a short one too. Which I hadn't figure on. Mean time I got my eyes worked on (cataract). I was having trouble seening. Thinking I had time to get it done while waiting to sell this place. Wrong again. Both eyes have been repaired, but having not to do much for about a month to 6 weeks. At fast escow. It appear I will be back to 20/20 again. GREAT! No more eyeglasses!
Bottonline I will out of here in a few weeks. Done mostly with Calif. and in Montana to be our new home.
Then I can get to my firearms and reloading shack to develop loads for those rifles. The merry-go-round. I'll still have my dad's place to come back to as needed to finish it out to sell. Mostly cleanup and it will be sold. That's 120 years in Murrieta. Now we will all gone. Nice places as a kid, but not now.
I am looking forward to get back to my reloading. I miss it the most, except for hunting, and again with my sons and grandkids.

Might have a few a 204 ruger encore pistol, a contender in 30 harrett, a contender 223 rifle,a 25-06 rifle i bought for the action. A 16 gage mossberg shotgun that pre dates serial numbers a few muzzleloader rifles plus what's new still in boxes there might be 5 or 6 rifles .
Some just get lost in the safes and others have been found in soft cases cause im outa space in safes.

I found a .45 cal muzzle loader in like to buy. But I think got wait. Lol

I've purchased 4 Sako's over the past year. Spent the time and trouble of figuring out the best base and rings. Purchased and mounted Vortex Razor HD LHT 3-15x50 and 4.5-22x50 scopes on them I also purchased a CZ 457 Varmint in .17 hmr, an Athlon Ares 4.5-30x56 scope and Burris XTR Signature rings. The range is an hour away. Seems like there's always a doctors appointment or a "honey do" standing in the way of getting to the range to sight these rifles in. While writing this I realize that I have a Sako sickness, once purchased and scoped I'm trolling gun sites looking for my next victim...

Ya know, when I retired I thought I'd set the world on fire with gun project, time at the range. I even planned to shoot clay's competitive. First month of retirement had surgery for double meniscus tear. Slowed me way down for a good while. Kinda lead to a couple of years I drank to much beer, cooked to much BBQ and watched to much sports. It was real easy to do being retired. Last couple I've spend more time at the gym, MX track and fair amount of gun work in the garage. Spent some time at the reloading bench too. But not much time at the range. This time of year in hot as hell League City, Tx it's easy to hang out in the garage with mini split AC going, mini fridge with cold Dr Pepper zero sugar and 90 cal, 2.6 carb Modelo Oro beer! Pork rinds too, I'm a low carb guy lol!

I'm 10 weeks off another knee surgery. I hope to be back at the range in a couple of weeks, depending on how the MRI on my back goes tomorrow. Sore as my back is I'll leave my 416 Rigby in the safe lol!!! Sore back and magnum rifles of any caliber don't always mix. Sucks getting old. If I had it to do all over again, I'd skipped football, baseball, raced less Motocross and played more tennis. Should have skipped playing cowboy and breaking horses too!

I have a really good range 35 minutes down the road in Texas City. It's only a 100 yard range but it's the best 100 yard range I've ever shot at for load development and sorting out rifles. I plan on soon as i can, hot as hell or not hanging out at the range this summer. It's always hot in southeast Texas, just another day.

First one that comes to mind is really pretty bronze Howa 1500 in 300 win mag. About 3 years back give or take I went to Cabelas for an FFL transfer for something, can't recall. While waiting I saw this Howa on the clearance rack. They told me new never been fired and had the box for it in the back. It's been so long I can't recall what I paid for it but it was a deal. Academy outdoors had some kind of Vortex scope on sale. Also found a Hogue stock with full length bedding block for a crazy price, bought that. Did a trigger job, put it all together with Talley integral mounts and put it in the safe and all but forgot about it. It made a really nice looking rifle and I bet it shoots.

I'd guess 3-4 years back Pacific Tool and Gauge had a bunch of Remington barreled actions for sale. I bought one shot chambered in 270 WSM, fluted bolt. A bunch of us bought those Remingtons from PTG. I stocked it in a Greyboe Terrain, gap splash camo. I think it has an Sig Whisky 4 or 5 scope I mounted can't remember. I may have even loaded a ladder to go to the range. I'll get it out one of these days lol.

Was getting something out of the safe to work on and found a model 70 in 300 WSM. It was a black shadow or whatever they call them I picked it up for cheap last year. I'll buy a freight train if it's on sale. Once I saw it I remembered I'd bought bottom and fitted a Wyatt box. Had a Hogue take off stock in the corner. Stiffened the forearm, bedded it mounted a scope and forgot about it. Sucks getting old lol.

No telling how many others in the safe I've done stock work on, swapped or mounted new scopes and had new barrels fitted that need to be shot.

I'm just a few days from having a 300 PRC ready to go to the range. Flutted Ace barrel 8.5 twist, sendero taper , WBY 307 action and a Greyboe Renegade Stock. I have a rifle basix trigger to install and start with loads.

I'm sure glad I got out of the gun a month club !!!

How big is your safe that you forget about rifles sitting in there? Or maybe you need to add one of those big lightbars to see what's in the back !?!?!!

On a serious note, when you hit 70. You can open a safe, see a Howa 300 mag you've never shot. Tell yourself ya need to take it to the range then the next day forget about it lol.

I might be in the minority here by saying I don't have a single gun I've never shot… closest thing I had was a family member found out I didn't own any AR's, and threw together a cheap one and gave it to me. I'm not an AR guy, and it took me well over a year before I got around to shooting it, and it shot pie plate sized groups at only 50 yards… I know it's a cheap AR but I took my good scope off of it, threw on some cheap irons and made it a self defense gun. Took me a bit to get around to it but I've probably put 300 rounds through it, after cleaning it it still doesn't shoot any better but good enough for 2 legged critters at home defense ranges. Plus if I sold it I'd feel guilty.

I wish I had enough disposable money to be able to have multiple guns that I've never shot

You are not the only person not a fan of AR's. I have a bull barrel DPMS that's a really good shooter, only had it at the range a time or two. I bought my wife a pink camo AR we've never taken to the range. I just prefer bolt guns.

I have to tell off on myself. Quite a few years back I bought PAP AK47. I tricked it out with recoil dampers, aftermarket trigger etc. AK's are so goofy they are cool. Most AK's don't shoot all that good. My AK shoots 2 1/2 inch groups with cheap ammo with 4 power scope. I think with premium ammo it will shot really good.

I put a different scope on my AK……..it needs to go to the range too. Instead of a 4 gun range cart I should have built a six lol…….lots of guns that need to go to the range!
