Have another 375 Ruger (25" 1:12) headed my way, been a while since I had one of these and there's new powders out now that are useable for it. In fact, was just reading that StaBALL 6.5 is one of them. Bullets will be the Barnes .375" 270gr LRX, brass is new ADG, primers will be CCI LRMP's. Anyone else loading for the 375 Ruger?

No Sir, but from everything that I've heard….it's a darn good little cartridge!

Good Luck! And while, I haven't used the 270 gr. LRX's on game that shoot very good in my rifle! memtb
 
I don't own a .375 Ruger, because I don't own any rifles, but I do have 2 .375/.284 XP-100 handguns. I shoot X bullets in them a fair bit, but you might want to look at Nos. Accubonds. They penetrate well, cause a lot of internal damage. Have taken AK moose, Shiras moose, eland, waterbuck, kudu, and several hundred deer with them. Every animal was DRT.
Nilgai are tough, but not bullet proof. Took 2 with a .375 JDJ Contender & 1 with a .475 Linebaugh revolver- all DRT.

I have no load data for you here. But… Biggest thing with Nilgai if you haven't hunted them before is to break their shoulders, don't try for the behind the shoulder or you will miss the entire vital zone. Better to waste shoulder meat than waste the entire animal. Good luck and have fun!

Edit to add small clarification: I realize the pic I posted is of eland and not nilgai, but their vital locations relative to their body is the same, and I already had this pic saved on my phone

I'm sending the parts off to have my GS build a 385 Ruger. I am going to try The 248 Gr hammer hunter. I'm thinking RL16, H4350 or ???.

If anyone has any suggestions on powders as well.

I'll keep you updated on how it goes when I start loading for it.
 
I just finished up tinkering with a 375 Ruger barrel! It was a 22" Benchmark 12 tw that I had custom spun to have on hand for when the time comes.

I used the 270 Stone Hammer & 270 Barnes TSX in my testing. The 270 class monolithic seems just right in that cartridge. Hornady Brass & Fed 215 primers (ADG on the way!!).

Varget & H4350 were the winners. Varget surprised me a little but I just couldn't get enough H4350 in the case to get the speed up. Still shot well. N550 showed promise as well. The 375's like faster powders!

Add 73-75 gr of Varget to that list as well! My 22" 375 Ruger shot best with that powder + 270 grainers around 73-74 gr at 2700-2750 fps.

Did not see pressure signs on Hornady brass till about 75 gr, (faint ejector mark).

Also, if you're going to do a crimp make sure to start that way... it changes everything.
