I have a SA Remington that sometimes does not engage the trigger. Thought it may be the bolt so I put a bolt in from another REM SA and same thing happening. Could this be the bolt stop causing the issue?

^^^ Yep.
Adjust pull weight and sear tension so that it cannot slamfire when you drop the rifle vertically onto the recoil pad.
Bolt stop does nothing more than what it's name describes.

This is a great YT channel- I've used it often when I've had a firearm come into the shop that I was unfamiliar with for disassembly/reassembly and fully understanding its operation.

I have a Timney HIT trigger that can remedy that problem....if it would fit the short action....it didn't fit my Model 7...
1.5# down to 8oz.....
Wanted it on my varmint 22Nosler

The difference I found was the bolt release.....completely different...
It went on the model 7 fine....
Shouldn't be a difference if the bolt release is the same....

Yep..bottom.... 20240404_201027.jpg20240404_200958.jpg
