There is NOTHING wrong with how these primers seated, your primers all have pinholes in the radius…look at your own photos.

I don't believe the primers have pin holes. The primers have split due to excessive space in the case pocket. This can be caused by excessively large case pockets, or undersize primers...... Or both. ;)

This damage was caused by using Winchester cases. The primer pockets were oversize resulting in gas escaping between the pocket and the primer. Winchester primers were used.. I have since dumped all my Winchester cases.

My Winchester primers work well with other brands.

In the early days when the AR was being used in the nra matches the same problem surfaced with Federal brass. We ( my shooting buddies) determined that the ammo was loaded hot, 5.56 pressures or primer diameter was too small. What we missed was the aspect of the brass being softer than it needed to be. Changing to a nickel plate primer solved some of the problems but it only gave -2- more reloads. The gas etching on the bolt looks bad but what we experienced was no effect on accuracy with new or once fired brass. Head space was not an issue.

I recently was at an estate sale that had a lot of reloading stuff. I purchased about 2500 Winchester primers. Wondering do I use them to test for this problem or not ? The boxes looked fairly new so I wasn't concerned about how old they were. Now I wonder if I just need to trash them. Should I contact Winchester and have them check the lot #'s.
Yes

I experienced no effect on accuracy either, as you point out it just looks bad . I don't think it's dangerous, and it does not seem like you think so either.

Send Winchester an email with the lot numbers in question

???????????????????????????????????????? Apparently there was a problem because Winchester had me send them back to them and sent me a check for them.Maybe you don't know everything.

How many rounds did you shoot to cause this issue???
Probably about 200. I changed the bolt head when I dumped the cases and have had no issue since.
I am now using a hand primer to seat all my primers. I believe this will alert me to any such problem in the future. Nip it in the bud so to speak.

Evidence that Winchester corresponded with you and sent you a check.

lol, you expect people to believe your comments and suggestions but you then want "evidence" of a members. Others here have posted also that Winchester took care of them and replaced damaged or paid for damaged items. GTF outta here. Typical keyboard ninja just wanting to start arguments.

What is wrong with asking someone to provide evidence of what they claim ? I want to see what Winchester had to say about it, that's all.
Why turn it into a big deal ?

There are some real delicate wall flowers about.
