10mm handgun

Underwood has some very good stuff, the 140gr is what I carry when I drag my G20FS along in the woods. Here's a pretty good video, I'm sure many here have seen it before, but... for those who haven't here you go. Cheers

I want to but haven't bought and tested Underwoods . I 460 S&W, 454 Cassul, 44 mag and 10mm

Carried a 44 magnum revolver for years with 240s in it. Switched just this year to a Glock 10mm. Probably 6 of one and half a dozen of the other, but I like the extra capacity. I like the Glock but you have to use a chest holster which is still ok.
Why not a shoulder holster ? Being a M1A1 tanker. A shoulder (tanker) holster was our given. And I came to really enjoying them. Or a good drop leg holster. The shoulder holster I find more comfortable for just about everything but bending over. If doing a lot of bending over I would sooner have the drop leg holster.

Do you mean this bullet/projectile?

This is not meant as a personal attack….merely an observation!

While they certainly will penetrate, with their shape they will provide minimal tissue disruption, minimal bleeding ……much like stepping on a nail.

IMO, the wound will rapidly close, with minimal hemorrhaging and tissue destruction. Unless brain or upper spinal column nerve is hit directly….it will do very little in stopping or slowing an attack! Again JMO. memtb
Anything but a CNS his is all but useless anyways. It takes way too long for a bear to die with heart and lung shots to meaningfully protect you in a close in defense situation.

Agreed, however a deep, permanent, wide wound channel offers the possibility of breaking some of the necessary bone structure needed to continue a meaning full attack.

I still believe that 1 or 2 pretty well placed shoots with a large diameter, heavy, flat nosed bullet is superior to attempting to get as many rounds into the fight as is possible!

Obviously, we all do not view things through the same eyes! memtb

I want to get one of those.

I have a Springfield XD-M OSP that I really like right now, but I'd much rather have the Sig.
I'm not really a Sigger, but-

Wife and I each have an xTen. She has pretty small hands, it fits her very well, she can reach the trigger and all the controls without shifting her grip, and she is able to shoot it very well. Pretty amazing for a double stack 10mm to fit someone with such small hands.

I got one first, she liked it so much I figured I'd better get her one too, or lose mine.

Shoots great, I *am* leery about the propensity for the P320s to fire when dropped, there is a lot of documentation that they do, so there's that.

Additionally, they totally blew it on the magazine design. Many wide, flat nose bullets (like one would use for bear defense) bind up in the magazine. the corners of the wide noses rub the corners of the magazine. Even Sig's *own* "Sig Elite" 180gr JHPs give trouble, because of the wide hollow point.

I load my own, so seating the bullets .010" or so deeper solves the problem, but if you're going strictly factory ammo, you'll have to choose (and test) your ammo carefully.

The gun is a bit under-sprung for heavy (real 10mm) loads with the stock 18.5 lb captured recoil spring. I found that the steel guide rod Sig puts in the X-Five and Legion series guns, which utilizes 1911 springs- works just fine (even though Sig says it absolutely will not)

I've got it running well with a 20# or 22# spring, cant decide which I like better.

If you've not had the chance to work with a Gun Fighter Kenai chest holster you need to give it a go. Once you do I'm for betting you'll do what I did and forget all that other crap!

I'm in no way a 1911/2011 fan! That being said if 1911 style is your fancy then go RIA hs hc 10mm. 15 or 16 round mag. Other than that I'd go g40/20 depending on barrel length you want. I've thought about the X-ten and 510 also.

I have a Kenai chest holster from Gunfighters Inc that I really like, and I also have a Kit Bag from Hill People Gear that I really enjoy. It carries a gun, spare ammo, and a few goodies, too.

It works well by itself, or with a pack, and can also "dock" to your pack straps so it's riding on the front of your pack straps and counters the pack weight. Kinda cool.

I have the big one that will carry a 5" 1911 or xTen with SureFire X300 attached. Wife has the small one that just hold her .357 snubby and a couple speed loaders.

I have not found a way to make it work with binos on my chest, so I wear it more when backpacking than when hunting.

I have the same two the chest holster and the HPG Kit bag, both have their places for us. My G17 and G44 both fit the chest holster for practice on the cheap

Have you tried the Razco attached to a bino harness? I've had good luck with that. I don't care for it on my stone glacier harness though. The top clips can come unbuckled when jumping or running. I'll probably have to switch back to me FHF or try a marsupial or something else this year.
