Morning guys! Anybody using the 68 grain Hammer Hunter Tipped out of their .223 Rem? My Tikka Super Varmint has a 1/8 twist and I'm going to try to work up a load, most likely with CFE223. Just wondering if anybody has experience with them and how it went?

Thank you,
Andrew

So I want to shoot this bullet too (HHT 68gr) in a .223 Wylde. Since powder is getting short, what's the best bet? I have seen Viht 135 and Varget listed as good loads.

I do have 8208 XBR And RL 10x, as well as 4350.

Will be fired from 26" Brux 1:8. Rifle is not finished yet, but powder is getting scarce.

Thanks much.

I didn't try Varget with the 68 grain HHT, however I have had great luck with the 62 grain TSX over Varget in the past. For the 68 grain HHT, I started with the data on the Hammertime forum and was able to find a load with 24 grains of A2230. I'll have to look at my notes to remember the seating depths. I know it was .02 off of the lands. I finally got my Garmin Xero C1 so will be testing velocities on them in the next couple of weeks. Eventually I'll futz around with other powders as well. I have zero doubts that 68 grain HHT will be a deer killer!

Yes, I finally got my Garmin in and made it out to the range. On a 30 degree winter day, my average velocity 2,926.6 fps with the 68 grain HHT with 24 grains of A2230 seated to 2.360 OAL. That is out of a Tikka Super Varmint 1/8" twist.
