Original 1950 Savage 99EG in desirable 300 Savage

I am selling an Original 1950 Savage 99EG in desirable 300 Savage. This Savage 99 is in Great Mechanical Condition but does show some handing marks from hunting use and there is some thinning of the bluing in some areas.

The Gentleman who owned this rifle stopped hunting in the early 60s.

DATE OF MANUFACTURE: 1950

FINISH: BLUED

CONDITION OF BARREL BORE: EXCELLENT, BRIGHT AND CLEAN, NEAR 99%

CONDITION OF RECEIVERS: EXCELLENT; with some extremely minor freckling. There are the usual dings on the top of the bolt from shells being ejected from the action. There is one rear site mount filler screw missing in the receiver.

MECHANICALLY: EXCELLENT; Action functions smoothly.

STOCK CONDITION: EXCELLENT; NO CRACKS a few minor handling marks.

STOCK FINISH: EXCELLENT AND ORIGINAL

SCOPE: N/A

OTHER: Leather Sling

There are four screws in the receiver. They may be for a scope. This was not my rifle.

That's not drilled for a Weaver or Leopold style mount. If it were, there would be 2 holes where it says Savage 99. Easy work for gunsmith, but decreases collector value of gun.
