    Annealing

I have a question on over annealing. Why is the brass considered trash if it's over annealed to a dead soft condition in just the neck shoulder junction? I'm aware that some of the alloys are burned off when the necks are over annealed. But don't know why that would make them unsuitable to...

    Why I Hunt

My father started me off hurting when I was 12, got my first buck when I was 14. I started my son hunting when he was 4 years old he didn't carry a rifle but he was by my side every time I went out. By the time he was old enough to hunt (age 12 at the time inPA) he knew the woods better than the...

    Why I Hunt

I copied this from Ohio Sportsman Archer forum, if you like this you can find the full post there. It really reminds me of my son and daughter who are my hunting partners. I hunt because my father hunted, and he took me with him, and so we built a bond that I still cherish. And because his...

    How do you judge wind

The first wind that the projectile encounters has the most impact on the projectile. At what ever distance that may be it is the closest to the muzzle.

When do you stop reloading brass?

This is on magnum size cases holding 80 to 140 grains of powder. I have a friend that calms that after three firings the brass is shot out and the accuracy is gone. I don't think that is the case, if they are structurally sound and show no signs of head separation or necks having any cracking...

    Bad lot of winchester primers

A few years back I had the same issue with two rifles one was with standard large rifle primers and one with magnum primers. I contacted Winchester and gave lot numbers and photos of the failed primers and the damaged bolt faces. They were very helpful, not only did they replace the primers but...

    How do you judge wind

PA long-range hunting. A picture is worth 1000 words. Some will condemn this type of hunting others may not but this is the way we've been doing it since the early 60's.

    How do you judge wind

I stand by my belief that the wind at the shooting position is more important than the last 1/3 of the bullet flight . It becomes a matter of time because the conditions has less time to effect the trajectory of the bullet where as the wind at shooting position has the whole length of the bullet...

where is is the most important wind?

I've been hunting and shooting long-range for around forty years and this is my thoughts on judging wind, First off I feel the wind closest to the shooting position is the most important. The reason I say that is, as the bullet exits the muzzle of the barrel two major factors act on it...
