I know one guy who won't buy anything but RWS. I'm not sure there's a big difference in brass, as to it's longevity. Lapua known for being very consistent , weight wise, etc. I'll take a look for the Lapua brass in 300WM and let you know if I find a place with it.

I've seen a person fire a 308 in their 06 once. Dip stick went into the store, guy says what caliber is your rifle. He said 308 (that is the bore diameter, right?), gets 308s and fires them. One thing. The 168s in a 308 are really too much anyway. The 150s are tons better as a hunting bullet, as can be pushed faster. Also open up better than the heavier bullets. Last year I loaded up 130gr Ttsx bullets for an Elk hunt, as the bullets are long for weight, and can be pushed to 2900...

I used a 280 in Africa 2 years ago. With the 140gr Barnes Ttsx bullets and 55 grs of 4350 (I forget which brand), I got 2900 fps, and under an inch at a 100 yds..killed 12 of the 18 animals I got, with that load, 3 more with the 140gr Ballistic tip, which I won't use again, and 3 with my 338/06...

Anyone know anything about the Park Service's elk cow reduction hunt at Teddy Roosevelt park. Anyone been on it? Heard you might have to pack out the meat, up to 75lbs at a pop. Anyone done that. Thanks.
