Possibly some barrels it changes group size, some it doesn't depends on gun and barrel. The shorter and thicker the less the effects. With hunting tappered barrel im going to say pipe dream.

I dont know why everybody says you get big increase in blast. Never noticed a difference hunting or range, maybe with a break. As i posted earlier 20" 300WM it is heavy barrel so maybe the thick shoulders help.

I've had Hornady brass do similar. New brass some cracked on first fireing some on second the trashed the rest. 300 wm. Don't know for sure the culprit only thing i could figure was not annealed properly from factory. I don't anneal but haven't had issue since, happened approximately 10years ago.

Leave ut alone if you are satisfied with it. Remember also savage actions are sensitive about the torque of the actoin screw so if it ever starts shooting worse check them, they like it just right, doesnt hurt to play with them and find out the one it likes best so you know.
