300 blackout is a very cool round, but ammo is hard to find and expensive. I might look at building a cheaper AR. you're right, a cheap AR isn't much more expensive. I can get a Keltec for 489 of Impact Guns. Thanks
Yeah, I agree. I have one and it's what I'd use, but I don't feel comfortable putting it in the hands of someone who is very inexperienced. I'd prefer a keltec for that reason. Its simple to operate. Also i'd prefer a .40 because I don't think they ricochet as bad as a .223. There are houses...
My family will soon be moving to rougher country higher in the mountains, and I've been looking around for a good gun to keep around the house for my mom and sisters. I like the Keltec; its cheep, reliable, simple to use, lower recoil. But my concern is if it has enough stopping power. We raise...
Thanks for the info. I'm looking at the Vortex Range Finder, looks pretty good. Yeah a new scope is nice and cool, but a ranger is a tool I guess I definitely need. the diamondback i've got on it now has "adjustable" turrets so i can always just dial it in if need be. Thanks. :)
So I have an 18" SPR style Ar15 with a nice Vortex Diamondback 3-9 on it. I'd like to set it up a little better for upper mid range shooting but I don't know if I should get a better Scope then a range finder or vice versa. The scope I want is a Leupold Mark AR 3-9. Its got nice dials that are...
Gotten to the point in my build I want to choose a muzzle device. As this is my first build I'm not to familiar with the recoil, especially an 18" variant with rifle gas system. Iv'e shot a 16" carbine and the recoil was snappy, but not heavy. That being Iv'e looked at compensators for muzzle...
Ok, great. Now I am a little suspect of JPE's 40,000 claim, and I do know that's a LOT.
And surprisingly iv'e had a hard time finding reading material about JPE barrels. Rainier supermatch does seem to have more reviews, etc. I guess I'm kinda throwing options at the wall to see what sticks. I...
I know for a fact that the Rainier barrel is a blank made by Shilen. A quality barrel for sure. I dot know where the JP comes from. A large factor in my decision is having a durable barrel. JP sites 40,000 rds and maintaining accuracy. I certainly know I wont shoot that much, but I do appreciate...
So here's the deal, i'm lining up parts for a decent SPR upper build and I'm kinda stuck on what barrel I want to use. I'm looking at 18" Stainless Steel, threaded. I've been looking at Rainier Arms Ultra Match ->
Rainier Arms UltraMatch .223 Wylde Barrel - 18 SPR | Rainier Arms
or the...
For my first AR15 build I am going for a mid-range, out to about 500yds or so, rifle. I like everything about the Viper 6.5-20, but it seems weird to have a huge 50mm scope on an AR15. And also I dont want this rifle to be useless at 50 yds or so, if 6.5x is to high a minimum power. Thanks
Ok, so been a few days but I got a response from the guys at Rock River. Apparently they can do it at the factory. So for anybody wondering the same thing I was it seems that yes you can thread a HBAR, and can have it done at the factory.
So i'm going to get my Predator Pursuit threaded at the factory, and I wanted to also have them attach a muzzle brake. I like the looks of the operator muzzle brake, but what do you guys think? Whats the best RRA muzzle brake.
