    Christensen arms actions opinions

I understand probably not choosing one to start a custom build with, considering better options that may be available. But, if a man already had a complete rifle and chose to use the action some time later for a re-barrel type project, would the Christensen action be a decent starting point? I...

    many cartridges with 1 powder

What to do with 280 Rem mountain rifle

The first centerfire hunting rifle I bought for myself was an original M700 Mountain Rifle in .270, back about 1993 (used family rifles till then). It initially shot standard (factory loads) Hornady custom 130gr spire points into 1-1.25". I started handloading with that rifle, using new RP...

7mm RM Bullet for Long Range Hunting

I have several loads for my 7RM Rem 700 w/24" Brux barrel. Really only consider the Berger 180's a "long range" load. Berger 180 hunting VLD, H1000, around 2860 Nosler 160 Partition, RL22, around 2960 Nosler 160 Accubond, RL22, around 2930 Hornady 154 Spire Point, H4350, around 3030 (mild...

    Christensen Ridgeline quality / accuracy?

And a final update, rifle received this past Wednesday and took it to the range today. I'm now happy with it. Very happy with it.

    Christensen Ridgeline quality / accuracy?

To update my earlier post, rifle sent in 1/31, just received the notification today it's on the way back after having been rebarreled and test fired. Test targets provided show 1/2 minute 3-shot groups with Hornady 147gr ELD-M. Will have to break in the new barrel again, but not a problem if...

    Christensen Ridgeline quality / accuracy?

I have a year old 6.5CM Ridgeline w/20" bbl, just sent back to CA to address several issues. We'll see what happens...............

When to give up on a barrel?

Kinda in the same position with a Christensen Ridgeline in 6.5CM I bought earlier this year. The only factory load (out of three that I've tried) I've found to meet their 1 MOA 3-shot guarantee is Hornady 140gr match, not a hunting bullet. The real problem is that the rifle produces case head...

    25-06 load

I'm at 50gr IMR4350 behind a 100NBT for 3250 in a 24" bbl .257AI, I would think a .25-06 would do that or a bit better with the appropriate charge for your rifle. My particular rifle likes the 100gr NBT and Hornady Interlock with IMR4350, it also likes the 110 Accubond and H4350 at 3240fps.

    Hornady Interlock: A Classic Performer?

Speaking of SST's, I use the 165gr out of my 30-06 over H4350 for about 2850mv. VERY accurate out of a factory original M700 Classic 24" bbl, and it really hammers deer and hogs. Someone earlier posted the SST seems to be a "modernization" of the Interlock, I would agree with that...

    Hornady Interlock: A Classic Performer?

I've used the 154gr in 7mm RM and the 100gr in a .257AI, both worked well but I kept them to broadside heart/lung shots. Both exhibited good accuracy. My Dad used the 154gr 7RM bullet to take his largest whitetail in South Texas years ago at a bit over 400yds. IMHO, they are solid, economical...
