I have the 6x25x56LRS, it has verticle reference marks under the elevation turret once zero'd take your cell phone and snap a picture of the turret so you can see the lines. Before you go out to shoot it would only take a second to verify you returned it to zero or not.

I too believe they have harder or thicker cups,never had a problem in my rifles but did get a box of small pistol that actually had all the 100 packs inside marked small rifle. I didn't even notice it until i loaded some rounds for my Glock22, acouple would fire then I would have to recock...
