    I finally finished it!

If I can remember I'll call Kent tomorrow at HS and get this conversation started. They still might offer the stock but dealers might not be ordering them and stocking them. I know for Rem 700 SA or LA there's about 37 different stocks in my dealer catalog plus the stuff that isn't in there...

    I finally finished it!

I'll talk to HS about it and get an order number for you for those stocks. I personally like the swell and I have large hands but I shoot differently than most people do it in terms of hand position. The swell is actually what I grip rather than "wrap" the grip the area. Anyway I'll get...

    I finally finished it!

Excuse the color on the paint, I ran into some issues with DuraCoat trying to match it and ran out of time for this hunt, the finished paint will match the lighter tan on the stock and the flutes and small parts will match the dark brown on the stock as well as the muzzle brakes will be painted...

    I finally finished it!

No the palm swell is large, whats different is that it's for a Winchester long action, the aluminum bedding block is changed around a bit and the forearm is different shape. I'll be at HS precision the week of Oct 1st so if anyone has any questions or requests from them please let me know

    I finally finished it!

Hey guys, It's been a long time since I've made any posts, please excuse me as we've under gone some big changes within my shop, long story short there was a ownership change for the better and business has been extremely busy. As there's some pictures floating around on here somewhere...

7mm STW Brotherhood - For those who shoot the 7mm Shooting Times Westerner

I just threw together some 168 Berger VLDs with 79.8gr of Retumbo seated with 0.002" worth of jump. I never got a chance to shoot through my chrono with them yet. And I only shot two rds at 100 to check and adjust my zero, after that I didn't shoot anything closer than 800 yds.

    stw build

I'd be more than happy help you out with the build if you like. I've done 9 STW's in the last 3 months ranging from weatherby, Remingtion, Winchester, and two Stiler actions. All have their plus and minus' as far base actions. Everyone is giving you great advice with everything so far. Talk...

7mm STW Brotherhood - For those who shoot the 7mm Shooting Times Westerner

Hey Guys, It's been awhile but I've been pretty busy in the shop, custom rifle builds are taking up most of my time now and with a few month to opening deer season the orders are coming in by the truck load, but thats a good thing. Anyway I made some head way on my personal...

    Why 7STW over 300WM?

The SD is important, again the whole point of the STW is speed, you make up for smaller SD with more impact velocity to equal your impact energy. That being said, I've seen quite a few elk dropped in their tracks with a 6.5x55 with a 120gr pill, as always, shot placement is key.

    Why 7STW over 300WM?

Thats the information I was poking you for. In your loading and setup, that explains it well and it proves the 300WM is better for your setup. The point I was making is the apple to apple comparison, 168 vs 168 or any other cross over bullet weight, the 7mm has the better BC. The speeds...

7mm STW Brotherhood - For those who shoot the 7mm Shooting Times Westerner

I can speak from the standpoint of the gunsmith and barreling an action as I do about 4-7 barrels a week. When getting one barrel the same to last that was on it is dependent upon the reamer and the gauges (or brass in some cases) used. Each time a reamer is used it will change it's dimensions...

    Why 7STW over 300WM?

If you run the long range ballistics between a 300WM and 7STW the STW passes and walks away from the WM at about 800 yards. I think you might want to restate your quote on BCs on 30 Cal over 7mm(284), when comparing apples to apples (bullet weight to bullet weight) the 7mm is quite ahead of the...

Spiral fluted bolt with 7STW OK?

NO, we flute lots and lots of bolts on belted magnums and have never had an issue with the belt hanging on the flutes. and Yes, mine is fluted, and heavy deep flutes. We even fluted the bolts on 2 of the 33/378weatherbys we built and those didn't hang up either.

    Custom 7STW ???

I've built 4 STW's in the last 3 months, plus my personal rifle that is still in the works in my shop. 1) AICS, HS Precision, Badger Ord, and CDI are good choice, all but HS use AI Mags, that being said, mags are expensive, bulky, and even the 338 Lapua length mags are a bit short for some of...

7mm STW Brotherhood - For those who shoot the 7mm Shooting Times Westerner

Well here's the picture update so far for my build. And you all get your first shot of my one off HS stock (really looks just like their other tactical stocks but they don't offer this one for a long action Win 70. Now here is another Win Mod 70 in 260 rem we did (personal gun). Its for...
