    Lets talk 17's for fur.

How did they work terminally? Lots of fur damage?

    Lets talk 17's for fur.

Built a custom 17 Remington a couple years back. It is my favourite calling rifle by far now. It shoots 25gr Berger into tight little groups and hits with authority all the way out to 250 yards. Will still open a coyote up if bone is encountered and range is less than 100yds but for the most...

    After the holidays calling.

Been working on my holidays exercise routine. Hunting coyotes. Managed to kill 3 as of today. Hooking up with a coyote killer master tomorrow. See what happens.

    Sunday morning

Was a good morning. Still no snow, cold but bearable temperatures and predators coming to the call. First red fox for the custom 17 Remington. Also managed to pull a coyote out of a no go field to where I had permission at the end of the shift.

    Saturday morning results

Beautiful Alberta morning. Still no snow, 34F temperatures. Pretty easy travel for this ole predator hunter. Coaxed this male into 100 yrd. One and done. Unfortunately he had shoulder mites so he stayed in the field.

Question for you seasoned Yote hunters.

My routine involves: Calling and successfully killing a coyote Dragging them back to truck by mouth and front legs, do not drag backwards(back leg drag) Hang in skinning shed by rear leg Fog coyote with flea killer spray, vacate room Return after sun goes down and skin, flesh, sew, wash and...

    Let’s see some coyotes!

Nothing like the last big fur boom. Auctions can be funny though.

    Let’s see some coyotes!

No sir, the ravens and magpies get all that. Every now and then a bald eagle shows up at my dead pit to take part of the feast.

    Let’s see some coyotes!

Take ‘em home, skin em out and board em up. Be sending all that I have to the fur harvesters auction in January for the March sale.

What is the MOST FUSSY cartridge...and LEAST?

Danced with a Remington XP-100 in 204. Tried Barnes varmit grenades. Different powder, primers seating depth, brass. Was ready to wrap that rifle around a fence post. In desperation I tried some hornady 32gr vmax. Stacked em at 100 yds. ***? My new 17 Remington has been the easiest. Shoots...

    Let’s see some coyotes!

Snuck into 100 yards of a dead cow the local coyotes have been feeding on. 2 never left the spot.

    2023 Meat Pole

Alberta cow elk. Even with the lack of snow and warm temperatures this November I managed to sneak into 270yds of this cow before she faded away into the forest. 300wm and 200gr ELDX did the job nicely. Freezer is full.

    Gratuity question

When I'm guiding for archery moose, I'm there until all the hunters go home whether my 2 hunters tag out or not. I'm paid for the whole hunt. When things go good and my 2 assigned hunters tag out, I'll either be scouting, helping, or take another hunter from another guide to spread things out.
