SOLD/EXPIRED Savage 300 Win Mag semi custom w/ Kreiger 5R

Oh, no Kreiger didn't do the work, a local gunsmith shop did it for me. I could probably get the reamer specs if you need them.

SOLD/EXPIRED Savage 300 Win Mag semi custom w/ Kreiger 5R

Yes, the $900 includes shipping. The gun wasn't chambered to a specific bullet, it was my first build and i gather it was a standard reamer for that caliber. I haven't started loading my own, so I haven't measured the distance to the lands yet (still have to buy that stuff). I was using the...

SOLD/EXPIRED Savage 300 Win Mag semi custom w/ Kreiger 5R

Ok, $900. That's the best I can do. As long a wait as it is for Kreiger's these days, I think its a good deal. The barrel has been just barely broken in, that's it. Otherwise, its completely new, not a scratch on the stock. Absolutely mint!

    Called Boots Obermeyer today...

I went ahead and ordered a Kreiger 5r barrel with 1 in 11" twist, think I might shoot 210 Bergers for longer shots on elk. I think that will work out well, not sure though, this will be my first decent rifle and first time to practice for longer ranges. Thanks for the input guys.

    Called Boots Obermeyer today...

I am ordering a barrel for a 300 win mag, 26" finished length, basic sporter .75 at the muzzle. I had planned on getting a 1 - 11" twist based on research, and was planning to shoot bullets around 180-190. He told me I wanted a 1 in 13" twist for that. I don't want to question a master, but...

Which is better in your opinion

Trying to decide between a 7mm stw or a 7mm RUM for long range hunting (elk and mule deer). Which would be better for 800+ yards and why? I'm a newbie, thanks for the help. Matt
