The 30-06 is still fantastic and incredibly versatile. With the newer powders and bullets she gets better all the time. Like the girl next door, not a high maintenance gal, maybe not a beauty queen, but she will always be there for you and still looks great.

I believe it’s pretty normal. Same for me on 308 and 30-06 Lapua. Good product and no worries. I use CCL primers and RCBS equipment pretty exclusively. Good companies and products all the way around.

Welcome to the reloading world. A great hobby and especially during the winter. Lots of fun. I’m an RCBS guy like their dies better than Hornady. I have no experience with Dillon but no doubt all will be very good and great quality. Easy to use and dependable.

I’ve dropped steel mags before and had to do a little re-alignment on them. They might be bent, a little bit out of “round” so to speak. With the tolerances is doesn’t take much. Measure or just gross eye them carefully and maybe see where you need to work them.

You mentioned pears...a little too late or early but maybe the smell of the leaves. They love pears and apples & whatever protein they can scavenge. They are great to watch in my small orchard over the years. Enjoy the view & so fun to watch.

I have the same rifle & 32/4198 at 1482 is very accurate. I use a good crimp but not overly done.

My Remington CDL-SF is beautiful.

The bigger bullet, 308. Someone added the 7-08 which would be a very viable option also. If you want to extend your range or just flatten it out try ALCO bullets in the 30 or the 7. The numbers seem to be game changers. I'll find out this fall.

IMR 4350 59.3 168 ALCO BC .678 at 2987 Weatherby Vanguard 2 30-06 & 24". The ALCO 155 .626 210 .848 IMR 4350 51 at 2494 all very accurate. Haven't been able to hunt with them yet but steel/paper are great.
