you have a magnum boltface, so the .473" caseheads won't work. This means anything from the 06' family on down is out. You can do a WSM, SAUM, RUM, etc since they don't have belts. or you could find someone to trade bolts who wants a magnum bolt,...but I wouldn't think that would be easy to...

6.5-06imp. The forming doesn't require a false shoulder, simply insert round and fire it, eject fire formed case. I use RL22 and H4831sc in the improved with 140gr pills. I went with 1:8 so I could stabilize anything I wanted and have been all in all, satisfied.

my 6.5x55AI will run 3050 from a 26" tube, but as has been stated, 2950ish is the accuracy node. You should easily be able to get that with your 28" tube.

VLD's typically like to be jammed. I would start at say .010" and move toward .020" in. Let me know as I am going to be trying this same combination myself soon. The 216gr clinch river pills are too hard to come by, so bergers may be what I use.

H4831sc edges out RL22 in mine by a tiny bit. If you are the experimental type, try a ladder with that powder. It is the preferred propellant in both my 280AI and 6.5-06AI sounds like your barrel is a good one, nice groups.
