I actually purchased the tikka for hunting but never took it out its brand new...i ended up hunting lots with my 7mm rem mag as i had developed a load very accurate.

Thats about 1K+ if thats the case....thats about thesame to put a chassis on the tikka....more weight less recoil

Here is a little dilema ...i have a remmy 700 223 heavy barrel 1 in 12 twist in a cadex defence chassis with a vortex razor scope on it.....i feel like i hut the max with that caliber and want to stretch it out further 800-100 yds....getting another remngton 700 varmint (i want heavy barrel)...

This is a really old thread...but ill add to the discussion. RIFLE: SAKO A7 7MM-08 1:9.5 twist FOR HUNTING AND TARGET SHOOTING I started reloading using 120g bullets with varget and imr4064 starting at min and increasing by .5 gr...and seated anout 20-25 thou of the land..and it did not...

6.5-284 used.....?i would not buy it specially savage...it not worth it replacing the barrel. Thats why its prob up for sale... As its more convinient to sell it andput the money for new one...but this is just my opinion...just a grain of salt...

The xbolt line up have proven to be very good.. Coming from a guy that also owns sako and tikkas

Im actually considering to load up some bergers 168 in that 7mm-08 but im not so sure if the twist rate (1 in 9.5 ) is adecuate
