Advice Sought: Decapping When Neck Sizing?

Thanks for the comments. I totally understand your points, but I can pretty much say that I'll not be varmint hunting is a drizzle or dust storm...LOL! ;) Conditions like those will keep me indoors...LOL! :)Good stuff! Fascinating. Thanks!

Advice Sought: Decapping When Neck Sizing?

Thanks for the additional information you've provided. I'm very appreciative. I'll investigate the acquisition of a Hornady Headspace Comparator. Sounds cool and prudent. If I totally understand it correctly, that tool is one that measures the case length from the base to the shoulder...

Advice Sought: Decapping When Neck Sizing?

Firstly, thanks to everyone who responded thus far. I appreciate the comments and suggestions. Responding to cdherman: I have done nothing with the .243...yet. Haven't put a single round through it...yet. I'm preparing for the future and lots of range time to come, eventually doing as much...

Advice Sought: Decapping When Neck Sizing?

I have two presses and all the necessary devices (powder scales, dies, headspace gauges, etc.). I bought these items years ago, but haven't used them yet. I've been researching reloading for years, but have yet to begin doing it. Now I'm ready to start! Apart from handgun calibers, my sole...

You are probably 100% right. I'd also wager that there are far more MOA shooters than MIL shooters, but ultimately, I don't care because I want to do what I feel is best for me. I can always move from one method to the other, and in fact, I might even set up different rifles with different...

Yeah. I know! Those who have TRACT scopes love them, and for good reason. Next estimated delivery date for a MILRAD version is July! Bummer for me with a new "sightless" rifle sitting here in a box awaiting its scope! I can have an MOA version now if I want, but the MILRAD version is sold...

FYI: Another user just told me that a new forum member needs to have a bunch of messages (10?) and maybe even be a member for seven days before PM can be used. Sorry! I guess I have to earn my place!

Sure will...once I figure out how to PM you. My apologies...I don't see a PM method on this site, but I'm a newbie, so I admit I'm clueless. I have no problem sharing email: bobbrayner at yahoo dot com I rarely check that email address, but I will go to it looking for you! Thanks.

Thanks for your input. I've never considered Mil vs. MOA as a "debate," but more of a personal preference. Angular measurement is angular measurement, regardless of the numbering system used to define such measuring. With all the fine equipment available nowadays (such as laser rangefinders)...

Thanks for the information. I wasn't aware of that club, and now that I am aware, I guess it's too late to join. I'm not certain exactly where you are, but if you're a member there, I assume your somewhere in the area near that club and not all that far from me. I'm in Coatesville, Chester...

New To Forum - Thanks for Accepting Me

1:10" That's kind of the "sweet spot" twist for a variety of .243 loads. I chose .243 for its versatility: varmints/deer/etc. There are a lot of loading options and choices of components for .243.
