    For those who have 300 mag Chambers with increased freebore what kind of velocities are you seeing? I think I've decided on a custom 300 wm barrel over a nosler or RUM and I'm curious how much I'll be leaving on the table.

    Long actions are stupid. In terms of ethical killing distance you don't see any significant improvement over a length restricted SAUM/WSM until you are shooting a 300 PRC or a 338 Norma/Lapua/RUM. The increase in recoil is exponential. I guess they have the upside of being able to handle the...

    7STW because wind calling. If you're not great at wind calls like me the ethical range of the creedmoor is about 575 and the STW about 625. YMMV based on your wind calling ability.

    Question on Proof Barrels

    I have a Proof savage prefit in 6.5 creedmoor that shoots .5MOA all day long with hornady factory ammo. I love it. Groups during the initial break in were surprisingly large but after completing it they shrank to their current tiny size.

    I'd buy a Swarovski 4-12 for appx 1k if I wanted to keep it light or a nightforce NX8 for 2k if I was less worried about weight.
