I own a Marlin Guide Gun in 45/70 its my backpacking rifle up here in Alaska and I love the rifle, I've got no complaints with it. I have HSM Bear Loads in it which are 430 grain, the first rounds through it were 320 and it grouped surpassingly well.

You are correct but if you buy a STOCK R700 it will run just fine and is good for the price point but if you want your 700 to run how it should have been from factory then you will be looking at getting blue printed like the ones GAP build.

MOA is far much easier to use and much simpler to use for most shooters, Army taught me MILs. Both have their purpose, but I use MOA.
