I've used it. It smells a little like creosote. They'll rub all over what it's put on. I usually find a tree/post they use to rub on and put it on that.

Another question from a newbie. What's the general concensus on fire lapping, hand lapping or just shoot-clean, shoot-clean, etc for breaking in a new barrel? Or is it lap the barrel then still shoot-clean as usual?

I'm just starting in long range hunting/shooting. I've ordered a .260 Rem w/ a 1-8" twist but I have the option of 1-9" twist. I plan on shooting bullets in the 140gr range. My logic is faster spin to stabilize heaver bullets. Any suggestions? Better bullet weight? Comments. Thanks.
