If you don't mind me asking, why would you decide to go a different route when you already have all the components available?

Well mud , I started out with a rifle that was suppose to shoot the stw, scrounged to find dies and brass and paid more for components than any other rifle I have. I was going to leave it as is and go hunting but that wasn't going to fly when i got it all together and then I ended up having a dud rifle. Then finding out that they couldn't give me a rifle like it in return. Well after all the hassle with remington and better than 3 month wait I should have a rifle back soon but not a 7stw, so then I have to throw another 300-500 at this thing to get it chambered, brake installed and diffrent mag box installed so I can take advantage of the long bullets and the local gunsmith wont install the mag because he said there is no way to do it so I have to mail it else where for that, that means more waiting. That work I need done doesnt include a truing job the smith wont do it on a rifle with factory tube, and 6-10 weeks wait again to get the work done. After it is said and done I have a factory rifle with work that should have been done to a custom build rifle.

If I could find a good smith that could do the work and not take forever and charge a lot to install my supplied parts. I might reconsider I figured I have waited long enough.

If I would have been able to shoot my other one more than 3 round I might know what im waiting for, I guess Im not very pleased with how it all went down, and that when I spend 800 on a rifle that doesn't work , why should I spend half as much or more again to get it back. Don't get me wrong I would love to have this rifle up but the bleeding has to stop

Is the stw really that good that it would be worth all the extra time and money to get it back.

If you were in Alabama, or willing to drive to central AL, my smith would certainly do the job, and not charge you an arm & a leg. He does phenomenal work, too. He's worked-over and put 5 factory tubes on my rifles and doesn't mind doing the work to them, because he knows how good they can shoot if done right.

Hell, he just put a worked-over 26" factory Rem 700 barrel on my Browning A-Bolt II 7mm RM and a Vias brake...I call it "The Brownington". But I haven't gone and picked it up yet. I'm probably going to grab it on Friday. I'll take pics when I pick it up.

How cheap are you selling that 700 LR?

Im at the point now is the only way I will keep this thing is if I can't sell everything in one whack. I will have to keep it, because I can't I can't afford to sit on a new rifle and components and go get a diffrent rifle.

I wish I could find a good timely smith also. I have to get 800 for the rifle other wise I just gave away money.
