Another believer! QUADE.. I think its time you go to the bank.

i actually just sold my current scope this morning, so now i have the money to get it. i too am a broke college student. my only problem is nobody locally sells one, they are all out. i would really like to look at/through one before i buy it. my local shop is supposed to be making an order so i will be checking back with them in a couple weeks. but you guys, from the forum here, have convinced me i will be getting this scope.... eventually

I got mine from optics planet.. who has free shipping and great promotional codes that can easily be found on google that could save you like 50 bucks all together... If you truly want to wait, then thats great but once you look through it.. I would check opticsplanet to see if they have it cheaper. Goodluck man!

well i just did it, bought the scope through optics planet. I wanted to wait untill feb. The local gun shop said they would have one by then. But i just got it for $474.91. If anyone is interested get one now. Everywhere i have seen the prices are going from 499 to 549 for the new year pricing and a couple of the places (optics planet and cameralan) still have it advertised for $499 but you can talk them down to 474.99. With optics planet you get a free hat though. I think i was the first to let them know at both places because they had to talk to there managers to get it aproved and told me it would be changed soon. So if you are interested jump on it now. I put all my faith in a couple guys on here, i hope your right about the scope. Thanks for every thing. Now on to my next question what rings do you suggest for this scope (30mm)

From reading previous posts, it sounds like the Burris Signature rings are the way to go. I am planning on buying the exact same scope you just bought, and then using the Burris rings.

thanks for the reply, which burris rings, they make alot of options dont they? And i would buy the scope in the next couple days or you could end up paying the 2012 price for $549

sorry i didnt see the signature series. Also to anyone would i need a low or medium set of rings with a 44mm obj. I would like to stay as low as possible.

my scope with the 44 bell will work with the medium height rings on a lupy base. barrel is heavier than original. the lupy base and burris rings are lower than a weaver style set up. good luck finding burris lupy style med height rings. no one will have them till beginning of Feb. that's what burris told me last week.

HA! Opticsplanet wont let you down man! The hat blows btw haha. what kind of gun are you putting this glass on? I would be safe and go with burris signature rings (double dovetail) on leupy bases.. or burris ZEE (weaver style) on leupy bases.. haha as you can see I like luepold bases. The burris inserts ARE WORTH EVERY PENNY! ESPECIALLY THE OFFSETTING SETS! THEY DONT SCRATCH THE SCOPE! THEY ALLOW YOUR SCOPE TO FIT YOUR MOUNTS LIKE A GLOVE!

now.. im glad I got that off my chest. I really dont like the regular (std) base/ring combos because all the forces and impact gets pu on the front ring only and they arent as sturdy as the others I mentioned.

But tell us a little about this firearm. Some pics are always nice! Caliber and barrel contour can be important when choosing bases and rings! great to hear good things from you! later!

Thanks for all the help with rings and bases, i have no idea about that stuff. My rifle is a .300 win mag, rem 700 sps. I have no idea what the barrel contour is the rifle is pretty much all stock and remington website didnt even list what it was. It is 26" long but i dont think that makes any difference. I am still a little confused about bases though. Is there a benefit for buying the more expensive picatinny style than a dual dove tail? Also i like the thought of the talley liteweight one piece. If anyone could give me more info good or bad or both on those three things that would help me out. Especially those of you who own one of them or chose something else over them. And as soon as i get scope and rings i will throw a pic up, but i dont think you want to see my scopeless stock remington.
