Sent check for tikka 22LR texted back and forth until the check cleared, tried to get a hold of him and his FFL with no response back, DASHAW from Arkansas apparently someone said that they were a FFL and text a FFL copy of my gun shop, should you report him to the ATF I got both of their phone numbers and texts of them reply to me back and forth

I would contact law enforcement in his state and county. And if he agreed to have the check sent by USPS, I would contact the Postal Inspector, and since someone claimed to be a licensed FFL, yes, I would contact the ATF also.

Contact everyone and let them bring the heat down on these people.

Sorry about your transaction …but

I'm almost to the point that I can't blame the scammer when they know it's so easy to get "paid" and virtually no repercussions, the buyers need to wake up and do multiple things to verify authenticity of the seller before paying. Definitely a sh!tty way to make a buck, though

Sorry to hear, DC.

Them SOB's…..be vigilant everyone and try and watch for these scumbags and pass the word. It can be someone that has been on here for years and you trust but some scammer using AI takes their account over. It's a whole new crop of scammers out now.

Good luck and I know it makes you mad. Try reporting it and you will get really mad. My daughter got hit for $2400 a couple years ago. I tried reporting it to local law enforcement and was told to call FBI. We had working phone numbers that the scammer was using. I called FBI and was told that there was so much going on that unless it was over $10K they did not even try to investigate it.

1st I check and make sure there legit then I check if they except credit card orders by phone never send your credit card number over the internet you have key loggers that steal your info that way. I sent my credit card number 1 time over the internet to buy ammo and the day after my card number was use at a door dash order for chicken in another state I canceled that card a got a new one. If they don't except card by phone orders use another company. I have never had a problem since.

You need something like COD where they don't get paid until the gun is delivered, someone start this it might take off like Facebook did. Win win for both sides. Thanks for all the support

I just used it for the first time this past week. It has a 4 day delay from buyers bank to guntab that part is lame but makes sense. Once money is in guntabs hands it's like in escrow. The seller then ships the item, once delivered to ffl buyer has a 3 day inspection window to accept or dispute if accepted the money is then released to seller. They charge a 2.9% fee I believe like PayPal does. The two parties can decide who pays that.

Years ago I put an ad wanting to buy match conditioned M1a. 0ne responded, everything look legit from our email exchanges.

I asked where the gun be shipping from to my FFL. He responded with a city. I told him he is in luck, he didn't need to ship. My shooting buddy who is coming to our state match will pay him and pick up the rifle and take it with him to TX. And, I followed that my buddy is a state trooper whose area is nearby...

Email correspondence ceased immediately

Of course, I didn't know anyone near the city he quoted. I made up the story to bust him.

This here Guntab is the way to go
I got burned on a 10mm GP100 filed reports with usps because the money was a postal MO and went through the mail they said they didn't have any time. The above links are greatly appreciated as I'm filing again. The Phoenix PD contacted me and said they found the guy ***** was like 82 or something. Asked if I'd testify, yep but the officer said don't hold your breath

Thanks again for the USPS scam links

Good like OP...............crap like this puts a bad taste in everyone
