Overall best 6MM cartridge to consider in 2026

Here's some experience with the 243 Fury loaded with 105's, 45gr RL17 @ 3,373fps. That's faster than the 240Wby and my typical 6-06 loads. In my experiences, the 6-06 gains little over my 6RAI loads, but the Fury beats them all.

Speaking of 6mm's, I had a hunting buddy quite a few years back who wildcatted a 6.5mm RSAUM case to a 6mm RSAUM cartridge. It was crazy fast and externally accurate. Has anyone here ever done one? I always thought about doing one, just never got around to it. Cheers

Gents, there are no flies on a 6.5/06.

Shoulder shots eliminate the need for a tracking dog.

When I need an acceptable round to fit into current happy standards ie. long pointy bullets & winning scores it would be a 7.5 twist 6CM.
When I want to shoot 1/2 gallon rodents way out there the 6mmAI 10 twist with 87 VMax bullets is picked.

I don't know if it's the best, I'm going to have a 6 GT built next year, probably a 21" or 22" bartlein 3B contour fluted. Suppressed.

You will love it. I picked up an 18" med Palma steel 6gt on an NBK and it is my new favorite to grab and shoot. It will fling a 108 Berger at 2820 using rl15.5. Pretty awesome little rifle.
