First of all I have always thought I was reasonably tough individual. I have broken too many bones to count and survived some pretty nasty crashes that can come with racing and other activities in the great outdoors. Now I sitting on the sofa in a brain fog instead of in the deer woods due to this evil Covid thing. I dismissed the concern for long time. I was vaccinated, but no other real precautions.
Last Sunday I was packing all my hunting and camping gear and started to feel poorly. Well, long story short…4+ days of high fever and every symptom listed in the Covid 19 list later, I am finally able walk more than 20 feet without laying down. This virus ain't no joke. Now my wife has it, so my near term hunting adventures are all on hold.
I'll stop whining now. I hope everyone stays healthy and doesn't take the great outdoor adventures for granted.

Hope that you feel better and recover fast. Will pray for you!!!

Hope you recover soon. And in time to go hunting this year.

Hey @Mark37082 it sounds like you got hit hard. Flu/covid can really take a toll on us at times. I'm glad you are on the mend but sorry it ruined your hunting plans. I hope your wife is okay & you can get back out there again soon. Time outdoors doing what we love is a gift we don't always appreciate until it's gone. But in this case, thankfully just temporarily.

Yep, it is a bugger. I hope that you all are okay!

Be sure to see a respiratory Doc, especially if you have stuff like asthma, COPD.

I vaccinated when I could but that was after two rounds of the first strain of WuFlu. I wish I hadn't though, things got worse after the jabs.

Hang in there brother get better and get back to Hunting.

I've had it twice, the most recent in January. I have what they call "long Covid" now. Mainly extreme fatigue. Someone who has never had fatigue would not understand and sleep does not make it go away. At least it's not every day like it used to be.

Monitor your blood O2 level, buy a pulse oximeter if you don't have one, they are cheap

Yeah, my wife was vaccinated 3x and I was not. We really thought she wasn't going to make it through.
Mine lasted about 8 days and a little tiredness for a few more.
She was bed ridden nearly a month and has severe long covid now.
This was last June and she still cannot eat. Has lost about forty pounds and is as weak as a kitten.

Good luck to you and may you jave a rapid recovery.

Yeah it's so weird who it hits and leaves alone. Absolutley no rhyme or reason but the flu is no different that way I guess.

My wife got it pretty bad half a year ago and while she's fine she still has basically zero sense of smell. It's weird. Makes food not taste like much to her anymore either.

All four of my kids have got it more than once…my wife's had it, they've all been right in my face and quite ill and for whatever reason I've never caught it. It doesn't like me 😁😁😁😁😁

Get well soon and don't be too hard on yourself. No shortage of us who can probably shake off brutal injuries like they're minor flesh wounds but just HATE being sick!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Thanks for all the best wishes and prayers. I sure hope and pray that this does not turn into to long Covid. It does put things in perspective and resets priorities. I am going to fight like hello to get my mojo back, but right now all I care about is making sure my wife recovers fully.
A really cruel side effect is my morning coffee now tastes terrible. This is one of those things that is adding insult to injury.
