Custom rimfire

Ok so I have been curious about whether at custom rimfire is worth it or not. Does FPS drop off to much by the time a customs accuracy would help?
I was hoping for some answers as if like to get a custom rimfire. Caliber options also welcome. Doesn't seem like to many out but I'm up for options to research.

They are all still ammo dependent although higher end rifles barrels tend to be less picky. I shoot a couple Rugers, a 455,457 and a Vudoo and all will shoot about a half inch or less at 50 yards but the better barrels/ rifles seem to do it easier. I tend to shoot the 22s more than I ever thought I would as it's far easier to find a 200-300 yard range to practice at. Out of all of them the Vudoo is the most accurate of the bunch.

I'd also look into vudoo or rimx. I currently run vudoo with a second on the way, while a buddy has a rimx with a vudoo on the way. Both are great!

I'm running a vudoo. My wife, daughter and close friend all have Bergara B14's. The vudoo is hands down smoother but the Bergara B14's flat out shoot! @218Peterson is exactly right with ammo. Get the best ammo you can then let the "wind-craft" take over..

I use a Savage BRJ shoots great. Here's a target shot a while back. Premium ammo a must. I did a test with 12 different types of ammo Eley was most accurate in this rifle and 455 CZ. That group was measured edge to edge did not deduct caliber dimension. Needless to say it shoots.

There are enough high priced rimfires out there that if you want to spend a lot of money to get an accurate .22 by all means do so. To my way of thinking, which some will take offense to, any accurate rifle out of the box beats spending a lot of money on a custom job just to say that it's custom. I am an accuracy nut, I like accurate rifles and have found that there are many inexpensive rifles out there that shoot sub moa groups all day at 100 yards. I have two .22 rifles that will do that all day long. One is a Remington 513T which of course since its a target rifle is somewhat expected to shoot well, and it does but is very dependent upon the ammunition it likes. My other .22 is a Tikka T1X MTR that shoots sub moa out of the box with most .22 ammo. There is always some really crappy ammo out there on the market that is simply a waste of money. Since you are asking opinions mine would be to buy a good .22 that will shoot sub moa out of the box at a reasonable price. My recommendations for new .22 rifles would of course be the Tikka T1x MTR closely followed by the Ruger 10/22 but preferably the target version. There are a lot more out there that will shoot well but you may have to experiment with different ammunition to find the one that it really likes. It does however go without saying that the barrel has to be kept clean. Even a .22 will pick up copper or lead fouling that will degrade accuracy. When shooting competition I like to run a brush through the bore at least every 100 rounds. Cleaning kits are inexpensive and come in small packages these days. So there you have it, my opinion for whatever you think its worth

Why do you recommend Ace over the other barrels that are well known barrel companies

The club I belong to has a monthly mini Palma match -- .22 rimfire at 100 yards. I started shooting it about 5 years ago with a Remington, moved fairly quickly to a Kimber 82, then went to an Anschutz. I think the Kimber did as well as any that I have shot, but I had to put an Xtreme trigger on it to get the best accuracy.

I think Vudoo is about the best you can get for this kind of shooting, but I have not seen my way to upgrade from my Annie.

I used Eley Match for several seasons, but recently have not found a lot number that works well for me. Wind doping is the big issue at 100 yards. Shoot a lot -- it pays dividends.

I have several rimfire rifles 2 anschutz that are factory rifles that are tack drivers a couple of Remingtons, but I have an old JC HIGGINS that I bought 45 years ago when I was 18 and didn't have money to spend on an expensive gun I gave 20 bucks for it but it shoots as good as any rifle I've ever owned I've put more meat on the table with it than all the rest of the guns ive ever owned put together it's got the best factory trigger ive ever shot, I finally found another one just like it and bought it but its not the rifle the first one is.
