Yes, Hodgdon's H4831 is an extreme powder and is not supposed to be temperature sensitive. Its also harder to find.
Burn rate is about 0.43

IMR 4831 is a close substitute and its burn rate is .44 or so.

However, there is no claim made that it won't vary in burn rate and performance in very cold weather or very hot weather but ought to be close to H4831 in temperate or moderate weather.

SC stands for short cut... The little sticks of extruded powder are cut shorter so they meter a lot better through powder measures.

H4831 and H4831 SC have the same burn rate though by weight.

OK fellas, I've searched high and low since January for some 4831 powder to load my weatherby 270 mag with.. With zero luck (no surprise huh) this is my last shot.. I have several different powders and I'm looking to swap, buy, beg... Deer season is almost here and I am in a bit of a bind. I have some 4350, 1000 7625 4227 4064 2400 231 748 and I think a couple of more
I would like to get at least a half pound, Id swap out a half pound of any of those in return plus some money. Someone, somewhere has to have some.. Go figure out of all the loads we worked up, that my gun would like it the best. Three bullets in a nickel @100 yards.. I don't want to mess with that.

I asked about any guns shows coming up on my Facebook and said what I was looking for and I'll be damned, one of my friends had a can along with the primers I was looking for and I have some powder he's been looking for. Don't know why it never crossed my mind to ask on there before now.. But thanks for all the replies.
