7SAUM & H4350 180 ELDM'S test

Decided to give H4350 a shot in my 7SAUM (Tikka build) after trying RL23 & RL26. It looks pretty promising from what I have so far. Opinions welcome!

24" Hells Canyon Carbon
MBM Beast TI self timer
AG Alpine Hunter stock
Yo Daddy Trigger Spring

I use H4350 in mine as well although with lighter bullets. Looks like you hit paydirt with 54.4gr. Any idea what your trajectory would be with a 200yd zero?

It looks like you have a nice node between 54.1 and 54.4. Personally, I'd load some at 54.2 and start playing with seating depth to see if it can group tighter.

I use IMR4350 with a 210m and the 162 eld-m/amax or RL23 with a 175 sierra game king. The game kings drop elk.

RL23 hasn't been real great for me. I know of several guys who use it with great success. So far my SD's and groups with RL23 and RL26 and the 180 ELDM's haven't been real great.

Yeah everyone talks about RL26 and H1000, I have had much better luck with H4831 and IMR350. Wish I had more H4350 cause I'm sure it would better than imr4350. I'll have to see if I can find my notes but it seems that i had better luck with CCI200's and the RL23.

Cci200's is one primer that I haven't tried. Fed215'sM 210'sM is all I have tried.

I'm building a 20 inch 7 saum cut for 180 vlds.

I have 7 pounds of H4350 and 9 pounds of H1k which I also run in a 30 nosler. If I could get 2750 give or take from mine with the h4350 I'd be using it.

It's a fantastic powder for low es and temp stability. As is h1k but hey I've got enough of both to do work so I'll let the gun tell me what if likes best.

I had mine done for 180's also. I shot bergers for my moose tag right after I got it back an I won't ever use them again.

I know a couple guys that run 57 grains with 180 hybrids. Might try to keep going. 2900 node. 64 grains H1000 with Fed 215 served me very well with long throated 7 saum and 184 hybrids

I have heard that as well, I will probably load up more at the 54.4 range and continue up towards the 57 to see if I got another node. It looks like I could be on the edge of one based on the last two groups I shot.

Agree with the other posters that the 54.4gr group looks like where I'd center my attention. Looks like good velocity consistency and low SDs.

I haven't tried using anything other than H4831 in mine. I run 57.9 gr with a 175 Berger Elite Hunter and a 57.5gr with a 180 Hybrid Target. The BEH go out at 2813 fps and the BHT at 2800 fps.

I've got more H4350 than I do H4831, so I might just work on developing another load. Thanks for the motivation!

I finally hit 2700fps with h1000 out of a 20" with 180eldm. I need to go back and see exactly where I can get before hitting pressure. I have some h4350 but my understanding is you're not going to get as much speed with h4350 and heavy bullets. The h1000 shoots clovers all day long.

True, H1k will be a little faster and especially with heavies.

I'm thinking after a short break in I'll run a ladder test looking for a node in each.

Main issue is trying to get to 100 rounds for barrel speed up without going broke!
