Yes I have it works well for hunting on lower power due to the horseshoe part of the reticle, even on low power. it does also have illumination but I've never used it.

Upgrading to a Leupy Mark 5 for this rifle. Need to sell this to pay the credit card off... glass in the optika6 is pretty amazing for the price but i needed a little more magnification.

Its a First Focal Plane scope, so what I meant was for first focal, it works well compared to some FFP scopes because of the reticle design, even on lower mag.

On higher magnification, it works even better because the reticle is magnified and bold. Illumination helps in either situation as well but I have never needed to use it.

I have a Vortex Diamondback tactical, 6 x 24 - 50 mounted on a Remington 700, 7 MM STW. I made a mistake when I bought it because I was a little skeptical about it's thin crosshairs. I'm having trouble seeing them clearly at dawn and dusk because they are so thin. I'm wanting to replace it with something that will be easier for me to see. This lighted reticle might be the answer. I have a couple of lighted reticle scopes on 2 different pellet rifles. I like them.

One more question, what's the Meopta deal selling scopes with reticle set up specifically for certain calibers and certain loads? How might that effect me installing this scope on my 7 MM STW?

Meopta glass is going to beat vortex diamondback by a fair bit. Clarity and light gathering are excellent.

Remember first focal plan, the reticle will be much thinner at lower mag than higher mag. the reticle is going to be pretty thin at 3-8 power, then be thicker from 8-18 power.

This is not a caliber specific scope - their MRAD-1 reticle is graduated in mils (NOT MOA).

I would advise seeing if you can search this model and reticle on youtube to find someone showing a video through the scope of the reticle.

Bump for meopta. As far as the reticle, they have mil and moa reticles as well as the many BDC reticles. The MRAD reticle is going to be fine for a 7mag, or anything else for that matter, it's calibrated for MILS, not a specific cartridge.

Also, meopta warranty is great, I have the optika6 5-30 MRAD. There were scratches on rear lens. I sent it in expecting to pay to have that lens replaced. Instead they sent me a brand new scope within about 2-3 weeks, and a sunshade for my troubles! NOT what I was expecting, it definitely wasn't of any fault of theirs.

I've been reading the post and viewing several u tube videos. Feel kinda like a Meopta fan now! Thinking the reticle might just be the ticket for me
BTW, beautiful buck on your site here. Where'd you harvest that one?
