Can any Texans verify this?

Don't lose sight of the fact that the UK did this 30 years or so ago. It hasn't gone well. They had banned and confiscated hand guns just prior to that - explaining that there is no need for self defense because the government was there to protect everyone!

I was there when it happened. The crime spree that followed was eye opening. Then they charged home owners that resisted with criminal assault! Watch this space. With Jo and the "..."about to be anointed, this only the beginning. We Will be tested as constitutional Patriots.

The liberal left politicians are competing with each other in attempts to imagine the most outrageous legislation, press release or actions. The horror is, they truly believe the BS coming from their own mouths. God help us these next four years!

It's like a reality contest to see who can be the biggest idiot

You know why that crap IS believable? Because there are actually people out there that think that way and more of them are in elected office every day. Our kids are entering a world of bizarre ideals and the incoming team is only going to exasperate the dismal situation that we're in.
First off
I liked your comment because it's exactly correct
Social media, video games, Star Trek, bla bla bla, has been desensitizing the world for several decades.
In this fellas lifetime which is on 49 of them, has seen quite a bit in the desensitized area, but never have chosen to drink the kool-aid.
When I grew up, Howard Costell was the shiz nit. He would be tarred and feathered for half the stuff that left his lips these days.
Bruce Jenner was on a box of cereal, God forbid IT gets an update.
And there isn't one cellular add on TV or a medication commercial that doesn't show the same sex cuddling on a couch or worse.
If y'all look will look at the big picture and not shove your heads in the sand, you will realize we have all been duped long time ago
Just my opinion
And this just ain't Texas
It's all of us.
We had the north and south
The next will be east and west
There is a place for those misfit *****on the west cost

Meanwhile, the kids are being spoon fed liberal propaganda by the teachers from kindergarten to high school! My friend's kindergarten grandson came home asking mom and dad why our President was such a bad person.

Everyone, just to reiterate, the original post is fake. The congresswoman did not say that. Don't get too heated. She isn't trying to repeal the bill but alter it. I DO NOT SUPPORT WHAT SHE IS DOING. Just make sure you have the right facts is all.

Note: Nighttime. It has been tested. A burglary on a vehicle on driveway, homeowner from 2nd floor window shot and killed would-be burglar. No charges filed

Texas Penal Code
Sec. 9.42
Deadly Force to Protect Property

A person is justified in using deadly force against another to protect land or tangible, movable property:

(1)

if he would be justified in using force against the other under Section 9.41 (Protection of One's Own Property); and

(2)

when and to the degree he reasonably believes the deadly force is immediately necessary:

(A)

to prevent the other's imminent commission of arson, burglary, robbery, aggravated robbery, theft during the nighttime, or criminal mischief during the nighttime; or

(B)

to prevent the other who is fleeing immediately after committing burglary, robbery, aggravated robbery, or theft during the nighttime from escaping with the property; and

(3)

he reasonably believes that:

(A)

the land or property cannot be protected or recovered by any other means; or

(B)

the use of force other than deadly force to protect or recover the land or property would expose the actor or another to a substantial risk of death or serious bodily injury.

NM, where I grew up and still spend a lot of time, has the "duty to retreat" law, which is just dumb. In NM, this is where one has to rely on "better to be judged by twelve than borne by six." NM is mostly a rural state, where police help is long minutes, if not hours, away. It is a harsh law in all but the urban centers, and maybe even there.

I reside in a Castle Doctrine State: Colorado. I like the law better here, especially when I am in a rural setting. But it can also be a harsh law when an unarmed seventh grader can be shot dead for entering a home on a dare, or because he is a harmless addict.

If I have to pick one or the other, I pick Castle Doctrine, obviously. The question is, is there a better intermediate choice?
