N560 for 280ai

57 grains. Mag primers took it over 3100 fps but accuracy fell off a bit and didn't feel like re working up a load. Hit pressure at 62 grains. Approach with caution your rifle may vary.

Please post results. I've been using RE23 with 145 Barnes and 143 Hammer hunter. I manage 3100 fps and really not pushing hard (Nosler brass). Also a FED GM215M PRIMER.
After careful brass prep it's really great on ES and a double base powder.
Your data would be interesting!

Yessir I will. May take a week or so, hurricane Delta is about to pound us and I may not get any range time this weekend because of it.

I use N560 with a 168gr VLD...61.4 at .020" off gives me very good accuracy and right about 3000 fps for velocity from a 25" barrel. Normal disclaimers of work up to load, it may not be safe in your rifle, etc.

The 168s are what I'll be going to after this deer season. I have a saami chamber and a short throat. My smith is going to lengthen the throat for me once the deer season rush is over.

I was doing inventory yesterday and ran across 2 unopened boxes of speer 145 gr boattails and 3 unopened pounds of N560 and got to thinking. Oughtta make a good combo for deer/antelope. What kind of speeds does it give you in the 270?
That bullet will be part of a "killer" combo for deer and goats!

Yes sir I believe so too. I've shot it for several years out of my standard 280 Rem and its been lights out for deer here in North Louisiana. Only had a few run and they did'nt go far. I already have test loads ready to shoot with Re26 and next will be the N560. Just need this hurricane to get outta here.

Ok... so RE26 is out had a couple of decent groups but seems to give a flyer in nearly every group. On to the N560 I guess.

Happy to report MUCH better consistency and no flyers with the N560. Best load measured a hair over 1/2". Chronograph crapped out on me this morning so all I could do was shoot for groups. I'm confident I can tighten the group with seating depth adjustment. Since I'm in the dark on velocity, ES, and SD if anyone cares to run the numbers through Quickload it'd be great. 280 Ackley, 145 gr Speer BTSP, G1 B.C- .472, 60.5 gr Vhitavuori N560, OAL- 3.193.
