Works great in my 270 Winchester. Nosler has data for it with 160 definitely worth a try.

I was doing inventory yesterday and ran across 2 unopened boxes of speer 145 gr boattails and 3 unopened pounds of N560 and got to thinking. Oughtta make a good combo for deer/antelope. What kind of speeds does it give you in the 270?

63gr and a speed of 2970fps with the 145gr pill is possible with lowish pressure and good case fill. This is with 24 inch barrel.
Sounds good. Hate to let powder and bullets just take up space on the shelf.

I've used N160 in a .284/184gr hybrid and could easily get 2950fps in a 30" barrel. With the double based N560 you should easily get plenty of velocity in a much shorter barrel.
Thanks for the reply.This one is a 26" barrel Christensen. Unfortunately the chamber and throat are saami and the 168s put alot of bullet below the neck into the powder column. I believe the midweights are gonna be my best bet until I can find a smith to lengthen the throat. N560 looks to fall in the IMR 7828 and Re23 neighborhood so I thought it would be more popular in this application but have'nt found much info in my search.
I use it as well as n565
I have a pound or so of that as well. How do the two compare for accuracy and velocity?

60 grains was 3090 from a 24" with 130 gr. 61 was 3135 ES was about 10. Accuracy like 5 touching .4 or .5 I had 1 flyer in 3 different shooting dates about 3/4" from the main group not sure but probably me. Accuracy was repeatable. That's from an unmodified factory Accumark.
A friend shot 110 gr with it at my recommendation and obtained similar results.

I run the Berger 175 eh with N565 at 2950 FPS. I just started to use the n560 and 555 to try and push some lighter bullets hard
