Made my choice of scope now would like some experienced based advice on which of the two Zeiss reticle are best for a hunting application.
I will be shooting a Tikka T3 in 300wsm and hope to become competent out to 700 yards on deer and elk.
My gut instinct is pointing me towards the second one the #92 ZBR as it's reticle should allow me the ability to make shots in multiple different cross winds without having to adjust the scope for windage if I should so wish. The fact I will have to do a great deal of shooting (the REAL fun) to be come proficient in applying this scopes reticle go's without saying.

Great thanks,
Art, D/Jager.

First Zeiss # 94 Z-MOA 2 reticle
Second is the Zeiss #92 ZBR 2 reticle.

I have the first one on a V6 and think it is best for hunting, since it is not so busy as the second one. The second one would be more suited for target shooting In my opinion. Also, keep in mind the Zeiss scope is 2nd focal plane, which means you will have to have the scope magnification on max to effectively use the hash marks.

Leica 2.5-10 x 42 30 mm 4A reticle.

Should have given an explanation along with my suggestion. I'm an old deer hunter in upstate New York, tower hunting mostly and no more than a 325 yard shot. Love the ERi!

A plex with an illuminated red dot. Like a Leupold Fire-Dot.

Simple and works in all light conditions.

When you're trying to find the right line while the Elk walks into the timber, remember what I said.

The only thing better is the Swaro DS 5 5-25 IF you need it. I didn't need it but I wanted it and sold several high end scopes to buy it. It is ROCKET SCIENCE !

I have not had much luck finding big game that hangs around for me to deploy a wind meter, change magnification and turn knobs.

Flat shooting rifle, simple reticle and 1st focal plane make it easy.

S&B #8. If you know the distance between the dots and where each dot hits at various ranges you're all set.

Good thread here and timely. I have an illuminated TMOA reticle on Leupold VX6HD that will be great. I also have a simple illuminated duplex firedot on 2 other VX5HDs. My only concern is the lack of MOA reference marks for windage on the duplex reticles. Maybe the 6.5 Creedmoor will buck the wind well enough I don't have to hold completely off the deer at 500 yards on a mild crosswind.

Assuming you are looking at a zeiss with a turret, is also go with the first reticle. The busier reticle would be good for target practice but too busy for hunting applications

I would get the Z-MOA 2 and hold off for wind. Get StrelokPRO ballistic app and practice practice & practice, especially in wind.

To many Mark's on crosshair I use the huskama scope less confusion when your in a fast situation with cut turret

I have three Zeiss V6 5-30 scopes with the #93 z moa-1 reticle on Tikka rifles. I favor them over the busier windage reticles. Zeiss's scopes have great glass and track well. I mostly shoot PD's and find the reticle is a bit thick for long range PD. So those scopes are on 204, 223, and 22-250 rifles. A Zeiss scope with the moa-1 or moa-2 reticle will work for your application. I do wish Zeiss would add a reticle with better sub tensions for finer LR shooting. I've added NF ATACR f2 7-35x56 to a 6CM and 6.5 CM for that reason. But would gladly buy a Zeiss if it had the NF t- moa reticle

I have both of these reticles one in a v4 and the other in a v6. The ZMOA is my preferred as I always dial distance and hold wind. The ZBR is too busy for me in a hunting scope. If your looking at a v4 check out the ZMOAI-T20 #65. My friend has this in a v4 and I think it's Zeiss best reticle for both target and hunting. You can be very precise with the thinner center dot.
