TARGETVISION is a fixed lens, portable, battery powered, wireless target camera that can be viewed from a phone, tablet or laptop. Pros
The TARGETVISION System comes in a Pelican 1450 with custom cut foam. I am a huge fan of Pelican Cases/Product and something like this, needs to ride in style. The TARGETVISION System comes with a unique orange digital camouflage print. This is helpful to see the camera when it is downrange from your shooting position.
The TARGETVISION System is easy to use and setup is a breeze. It comes with a laminated quick startup and App guide. Syncing my iPhone and iPad was easy and painless. It works with iOS 7 and iOS 8. I did not notice any difference with either software. I was also able to test an Android phone with the TARGETVISION System, with no problems.
The TARGETVISION System has minimal components and no wires, with the exception of the charging plug, which you plug in independently. You are capable of charging your iPhone, iPad, or other devices with the receivers built in USB Ports.
The TARGETVISION System is very well made. The construction of the TARGETVISION System is very solid. The camera has independent legs or braces which can accommodate various terrains at the cameras location. The legs spin 360 degrees and are longer on one side than the other.
Cons
The TARGETVISION System comes in a Pelican 1450 which could be cumbersome to pack into a remote shooting location. Tipping the scales at a weight of 13 lbs. and the dimensions of the Pelican Case (16.00" x 13.00" x 6.87"), I could not see myself carrying it too far to use. The receiver of the unit is built into the Pelican Case and therefore cannot be removed. Not saying 13 lbs. is a lot, however, I do not see this being carried into the back country.
Running both an iPhone and iPad with the TARGETVISION System, it was evident while streaming the live feed, it seemed to draw the battery on my devices quicker than normal. However, with the receivers built in USB Ports, it wasn't a big deal.
Practical Uses
The TARGETVISION System can be used with one or multiple shooters. I see the TARGETVISION System being most beneficial for someone who may be shooting alone at any distance. I would get the most out of this, shooting at a designated range, where I would normally need someone to pull and mark my targets. I usually shoot with two or three other people. This usually takes some organization and delays as our schedules never seem to coincide. Where we shoot, is a range with multiple distances, from 100 to 1000 yards. One guy usually stays in the pit and pulls targets, while the other two shoot. Now more than one person can shoot at a time. Like the ad says, with TARGETVISION, your target is at your fingertips.
On another note, if a person was hunting over a bait site at long range, you could use TARGETVISION to record the shot. Obviously, conditions and locations would have to be predetermined, which would allow you to set up the camera prior to. With The TARGETVISION System, I wouldn't be worried about the batteries failing if they were fully charged prior to your hunt. This would be just a bonus for what the TARGETVISION System is designed for.
Battery Run Times – I ran the batteries down just by leaving the units on. I turned the receiver and camera on, at intermittent times and durations. (1.5 Hrs., 3.5 Hrs., 4 Hrs., and 5.5 Hrs., until each battery ran out). I am not certain if the unit was used prior to receiving it; however, I believe the unit would run as described for 16+ Hours. My run times are as follows:
Camera – 14 Hours
Receiver – 25.5 Hours
Charging Time – Although the units charged fully in approximately 4 hours, I left them plugged in overnight. The receiver and camera had to be charged separately.

Wi-Fi Capability
The Wi-Fi is very easy to interface. There is NO need for cellular service to operate the TARGETVISION System. Once you download the TARGETVISION App to your device, just turn on the Wi-Fi, on your device, if it isn't already. If you don't see TARGETVISION XXX (Unit Number) as a Wi-Fi network, click search for other networks. You will be prompted to enter a password (neverlosesight) when your device locates the network.
Both the receiver and the camera operate independently both sharing the same Wi-Fi network. One will always try to find the other. That being said, if you place the receiver at your shooting location, then drive to your target location (Which may be out of direct line of sight) they will work to find each other when the line of sight is reestablished.

Performance Tests
500 Yard Test
– This was the initial test I conducted to test connectivity. The dirt road in front of my house is 500 yards in length and at a slight grade. I had no problems syncing the units together. I suggest giving the unit time to sync with the camera and receiver prior to setting up. I also recommend syncing all hand-held devices you are using with the receiver and camera. I wanted to test how far away I could get from the receiver. So I walked away from the receiver, toward the camera, with both my iPhone and iPad. I was able to get approximately 150 yards, before I lost signal from the receiver. However, when I got closer to the camera, I was able to reconnect on my iPhone but not my iPad.
1000 Yard Test
– I was unable to conduct this range test, as the weather was uncooperative. I tend to be a fair weather shooter and do not like to get my equipment wet.
1500 Yard Test
– There was little to no delay in viewing at this distance. Reconnection/syncing were quick after setting up the camera. I was out of sight for 10-15 minutes until we got back to our shooting location. I was unable to record videos at this range. Zooming and shot tagging worked great. My iPad captured camera images at various different zooms. I was unable to get my iPhone to work properly. Our shooting times were from 5:15PM to 6:15PM.
1800 Yard Test
– There was a minor delay in viewing at this distance. Reconnection/syncing were quick after setting up the camera. I was out of sight for 15-20 minutes until we got back to our shooting location. I was able to record videos at this range. Zooming and shot tagging worked great. My iPad captured camera images at various different zooms. I was unable to get my iPhone to work properly. Our shooting times were from 7:00PM to 7:45PM. We were practically shooting in the dark. With the TARGETVISION System, we were able to see hits on the steel at this distance, even thou it was dark. The camera provided the extra bit of light needed.
Notes:
I will be the first to admit; I was somewhat hesitant to shoot beyond 1000 yards while the camera was down range. I was worried to strike the camera with a round or shrapnel. TARGETVISION instructs to place the camera 10-15 feet from the target. I placed the camera, at an angle, 10-15 yards from the targets. Plus, me never shooting those distances, I wasn't sure where I would be.
All ranges acquired were verified using a Leica 1600. While using the TARGETVISION System, you are capable of receiving calls while operating the system. I did notice I was unable to record on both my iPad and iPhone at the same time. I discovered this while shooting the pumpkin video. This may have contributed to why I was unable to record a video at 1500 yards. An update to the App is coming out; however, it wasn't at the time of testing.
Things I would like to see added: A battery meter on both units. Additional 12V DC charger or develop something to charge the receiver and camera simultaneously. A car charger. A Universal adapter for tripods or include a tripod in the kit. Also upgrade the App to measure group size on devices similar to that on a ballistic shooting program.
Of the competitors on the market, there is one other that comes to mind. Although another review was conducted on this competitor, I did not have them side by side to compare. The competitor offers 4 different models. However, if you want to match the range capabilities and overall performance of the TARGETVISION System, you have to purchase an additional antenna, receiver/signal extenders, and an extra battery pack. After purchasing said items, you are at the price of the TARGETVISION System. The TARGETVISION System offers less wires and components to set up. The three options I like with the competitor is the option to purchase a two year protection plan, which covers accidental bullet impacts, models that come with a laptop, and the tripods which are included in each model. Although most everyone today has a smartphone, tablet, or laptop, it is nice a device is included.
Customer Service – TARGETVISION's Customer Service is spot on. I have no complaints in regards to question or concerns related to the TARGETVISION System. They were very prompt and courteous. They answered any and all questions I had and encouraged feedback as well as additional calls.

A: Our system is extremely easy to use and set up. A: The system is not bulletproof and we do not recommend covering the camera with any steel or armor plating. Placing heavy materials in front of the camera will limit and can sometimes obstruct the camera signal completely from reaching you and your smart device. If you are worried about hitting your system, we recommend that you place your camera 10-15 feet from the target and slightly off to the side and out of the line of fire.
