what parts does everyone keep on a bear? i've seen some talk about the fat i'll be hunting on my fathers land and adjacent land so packing out will not be a problem.would like to get the fur tanned.(if i get lucky) had several sightings and a lot of sign last fall

Black bear or brown.If you are talking black bear you keep the same parts as you would a deer.Take every piece of fat you can get off of it.It will affect the taste.Cook it like you would pork.If you get one let me know I have a couple of receipes. Good luck
