What is your best deer rifle

I use my trusty .375 Allen Mag. Puts them down really fast and gutting them is half way done.

For many years it was a pre 64 m70 in 30 06 with 150 partitions then it was a tc 270 with 130 interlocks now its a 6.5 creed more with 140 vlds. Been working on a pre64 m70 in 270 so we'll see how that turns out

Hi guys, hey what's your best deer rifle, mine is a Browning A bolt 30-06.

Kimber 8400 Select in custom wood and chambered in 300WM.
My other 'best' rifle is a Win Model 70 EW in 338WM.
Both are equal 'bests', just depends what animal I'm hunting at the time.

Well, right now...I'd have to say my Mod 700 Classic in 7mm Express (.280) and my Ruger Hawkeye SS in 338 Federal, plus my old Belgium made BAR in .270 Winchester.

Browning A-bolt in 7mm Rem Mag has been doing it for 20 years for me. I've shot close to 100 deer with that rifle.

Recently tested out my 338-378 on deer and found it to be fantastic! I would have sold the rifle had it not been for this successful trip in thread below.

30-06 with 180 grains. Ya its more gun then I need to shoot a deer at 40 yards, but that is just what people use.

Don't apologize for the 30/06 I've used one for years and shot deer closer than 40 yards and never had one get away. That 06, IMO, is one of the best deer calibers a person could use. Near or far.

34 lb 338 Edge. 5.5x22x56 NF NP-R2. 300 SMK @ 2850. 30" Hart Savage action. Plywood homemade stock. Never had to shoot one twice. Never seen one go over 50 yds either.
