Ruger 77 Tang 30-06 Accuracy?

I am looking for some tips on how to maximize the accuracy of my Ruger 77 30-06 with Tang Safety. I'm considering floating the barrel and glass/pillar bedding. Have a friend who has done this with his Model 70 and is willing to help. I just do not want to mess things up. I understand it can be tricky with the angled front screw.

I am also curious if anyone has a good starting load recommendation for this rifle for deer/elk hunting.
