I took my new Nosler 21 280 Ackley to the range today for break in. The rifle comes factory with McMillan hunters edge stock 24 ounces, Mack brothers Evo stainless action, shillen match stainless threaded barrel, trigger tech trigger adjusted down to exactly 2 pounds. At the first shot I fell in love with the rifle. The stock and recoil pad absorb the recoil extremely well. It feels like a mild 270. The trigger breaks nice and creep free. All rounds feeded and ejected perfectly and smooth. I fired 30 rounds of break in and my shoulder is pain free. I'm really pleased with my purchase and would definitely buy again. This rifle will see action from 0-600 yards. It is light enough in my opinion for a mountain hunt at 6 pounds 15 bare rifle. I'm going to mount a vx3i 4.5-14x40 Boone and crocket I just purchased at 13 ounces. My last 3 shot group measured.370 with factory Nosler 140 Ballistic Tips at 100 yards for barrel break in. I recommend this rifle in 280 Ackley to anyone.

I have been seriously considering the Nosler model 48 in 280ai for awhile now. I want to buy a 280ai after New Years. Nice to know the Nosler rifles shoot well. I'm just a little apprehensive on a production rifle at the cost of the nosler rifles. I have been looking at the Fierce and the Nosler for the last couple months now and still haven't made up my mind. The horror stories of the wait time for a Fierce is probably my biggest concern with that builder. I can get the Nosler at a big box store near by pretty much anytime

I just bought the Savage Ultralight in 280 AI for a few reasons you mentioned, namely the cost of a production rifle in the $2K range. The ultralight has a proof research barrel, adjustable trigger and stock LOP (my grandkids will be using it), and it was on sale at Cabela's for $1100. It took me a few weeks to find brass but I've got some ordered, hopefully load development in January.

That looks like a lot of gun for the money. Let us know how it shoots.
