Some of you have been asking about use of the long bullets in the 6.5 SS Short action. The SS was designed with this in mind, but with the advent of the 150 and 160 Matrix bullets, a little extra length is nice to take advantage of the case capacity. This is especially true when using RL 33 powder to maximize velocity because you need to fill the case. The following pics illustrate how it is possible to seat the bullets out with a case full of RL 33 which will drive these 150 matrix bullets over 3200' in a 26" barrel. This setup is a PTG trigger guard with the AICS box. This conversion costs about $170, and is well worth it IMO. It took me about two hours to do the in letting, and the only mod to the magazine, which is for a .308, was to open the lips .080". This took about two minutes. The rounds feed flawlessly and having the removable clip is great! The coal of this round is 2.880" which puts it just short of the lands. This allows both maximum accuracy and velocity........Rich
