extream LR bullet expansion on game

The reason I asked was because I have not found AB's to expand at 1800'. In fact, I started making my own bullets for that very reason when I had less than desirable results with a 300 RUM at 1000 yards.....Rich

Rich, I have been kicking around the idea of chucking a 300 smk in a home made collet in my Hardinge lathe and turning out the tip and glueing in a 20 cal 40 grain v-max.

That should start expansion!

Does anyone know if seirra discontinued the 350 smk for the 375 bore?

It will start expansion! I did that with my 195's I was making a few years back before I had my ballistic tips made. I pulled the tips out of my 17 HMR rounds and then shot them as hollow points.....Rich
p.s. It will also raise your b.c. more than you think....
