I have recently had a custom rifle built by a UK based gunsmith called UKgunworks!!
It's based on a Tikka T3 action , it has a McMillan Sako varmint stock / UK gunworks action screws and tactical bolt handle and knob / Krieger 24 inch fluted tube chambered for 6•5-55 improved and a 290 neck.
I am using a Ase ultra S5 sound moderator too!!
The load I am using is ..
Norma brass
Federal 210 M
Viht N160
123 A-max
This load is shooting very well and going along at 3000fps.
My quest with this rifle is to get a 1000yd shot on a bunnie!!
I have had some near hits between 830- 1078yds ,on the last 3 outings i have been missing by inches not feet!!
The other night after setting up at one of my favourite vantage points I spotted a bunnie!!
It was a good safe shot and ranged at 697yds!!
So I dialed in the elevation and windage settings and squeezed of the shot!!
The beauty with the moderator is that after the shot the rifle came back on target and I seen the vapour trail going in and the bunnie roll over
, I then heard the sound of ( thump!! ) of the report!!
It's early days but I am sure impressed with the rifle / caliber and load choice!!
All the best from over the pond ,
Ray.
