ok so I want my 180 Partitions to be at 2750fps.
Im shooting an x bolt 30-06 with a 22 in barrel. I have around 1 MOA at just under max. I had a test group at max that gave me abut 1.3 MOA and then .4 over max that gave me 1.2 MOA with slight pressure signs. Should I work up .6 and .8 over max and see, or is that pushing it?

The Nosler manual says max is 2700fps with H4350 using a 24in barrel so I figured that with a 22 I'm at at lease 2650.

What do you guys think, should I push it some more, if so by how much?

I'd take accuracy without pressure signs over velocity anytime!

No don't push it...you already are. You need to take that .6-.8 and go down, I would say down a solid grain.
My 30-06 is getting 2650 with the 180 Partitions.

^^^Excellent answer^^^

Another 100 or 200 FPS ain't gonna matter. A 180 grain Partition at 2700 FPS will kill everything in North America.

A screeching fast bullet that ain't accurate is a screeching fast miss.

If you want 2700+ out of your 22" barrel you'll need to try a different powder.

IMR 4955 and hogdon superformance will get you there without max pressure.

And what animal is it that can stop a 180 grain partition traveling 2700+ fps, it will drop anything you can hit with it ...

ok thanks guys, ill stick with my load and work my OAL to see if I can get better groups. Thanks guys!

I dot wanna use new powder yet unit i exhaust all my 4350.

I wouldn't go that route. If anything you might look at a diffeent powder like Reloader 26.

Another option depending on your max range of course is to back off to the 165gr.

I was taught when I first got into reloading that for liability's sake the major publishers of load data list their maximums at about 5-10% below what is actually "Max Load" for safety but I can't in good conscience suggest to anyone that they exceed listed maximums.

The 06 is what it is and always has been but it isn't the go to caliber for speed. In the end what matters most isn't velocity, it's having a very consistent and accurate load.
