140grn or 156grn

Love the .264. I have one as well, custom LR comp gun. Best I can squeeze out of a 28" barrel is about 2950 with IMR 7828ssc pushing a Sierra Mk 140.

For targets, its plenty at 1000 yards, and I can smack an 8" steel plate. Not sure if your intent is hunting at that distance, but its probably not carrying enough energy to do a whole lot.
I hunt and shoot lates

Wow, 2950fps with a 140 in a 28" barrel is way slow. I get just over 3350fps with a 142gr ABLR in my 29" barrel with zero pressure issues. I got well over 3400fps using US869, but ran out of that some time ago. Waiting on RE33 to give that a try, have played with H50BMG, as my throat allows a good 3gr more powder. I run my Bullets at a COL of 3.540".
RETUMBO gets it done for me at present, luckily I have an abundance, just wish it came in 8lb jugs here. Only comes in 1lb bottles unfortunately.

Cheers.

I concur. In my dad's .264 wm I load for I didn't see pressure signs until around 3375 with HBN coated 147's, in the form of faint ejector mark. Switched to the 156 EOL, got it up to around 3250 before pressure signs. Ran the 147 at 3340 for a while, about 4 fireing on brass, no issues, then switched to ADG brass with the 156's. Final load is around 3175 fps. This is also using Retumbo.
