remington sendero 2 Vs. Browning a-bolt target

Anyone have any experience with either gun? i'm in the market for either a sendero in a 300 win mag or the a bolt target in a 300 wsm. So far I like the longer 28in barrel and adjustable comb of the a-bolt but wanted to hear your opinions on the two. The rifle would mainly be used for long range target shooting but deer and elk are on the menu in the fall.

Not tough for me on this. The browning is too much of a gamble,some shoot good and some don't. The sendero's are a excellent platform to work with.Most sendero's shoot excellent or can be worked with.

I've owned and shot several of both. Neither is an absolute on accuracy. However, I would probably give the nod to the Sendero just because of the after-market parts available for the 700 action.

No brainer.

Of the two options listed, I have no experience with those exact models. I would give my nod to the Remington because of aftermarket availability. That, and I know there are a ton of smiths that work on remington actions.

I wouldnt speak in absolutes. I think with either a pillar bed and some handloads will easily get you to MOA or better.

But my answer if you don't want to work on the gun would be Savage. Great little guns and my friend had one that only shot at about 1.3 MOA with factory ammo. He called savage and they said send it back. A month later he had a brand new rifle waiting at his door step. That rifle shot at .8 MOA with factory hornady ammo.

To help answer your question I'm going to have to ask you this:
Do you plan on any modificaitons? i.e. stock, bbl, DBM's etc? There are a BUNCH of smiths that work on Remmys but I can't personally think of one who works on Browning (I don't own one which is probably why).

Both brands have strong followings & solid reputations, if you are going to buy if install a scope & go play it would be a coin tosser.... if you want to modify (don't we all?) the Sendero hands down.

Does anyone make a tapered base for Brownings??

I rarely see the Browning recommended here by avid long range participants in these forums.

So, I think you should get that one and report to us on the performance.

sarcasm aside... Browning has a good reputation. If you've held it and like it, then buy it. The Sendero has a strong following for the reasons stated by others.

I bought a Savage 110 25 yrs ago.Before they were popular.All my friends laughed at my 230.00 rifle.They had nice Brownings.They werent laughing after we got done shooting.I have owned a few brownings but got rid of them.They are running off their name.They are way to expensive.Hell I got rid of my Browning Gold Turkey hunter.My 200.00 Mossberg out shot it.That is sad.I paid 1000.00 for it.But it was a dud.I can drop a turkey at 60 yrds with the Moss.Maybe if I got lucky 40yrds with the Browning.And that was pushing it.And I spent a ton on chokes and different loads for it.NO MORE BROWNINGS 4 me

I own a browning stainless stalker w/boss in 300 win mag and wouldnt trade it for anything. It is my "Go to" gun. It will shoot 2 inch groups at 200 yds. I think that's impressive for a factory rifle.

I own A-bolt 22-250 Target good gun for what it is, cuts holes @100 yds. I have a sendero 300 wm also Great gun almost cuts holes at @ 100 yds . I think I would personaly go with the sendero for the same reasons the other guys stated as far as being able to do more to it easier than the A-bolt. Just my opinion.

If you gave me a choice between any browning rifle or a bag of horse shiz, i'll take the bag of shiz. My stainless steel stalker done me with brownings.
